  • Can anyone help me with this - I change the back ground and my people exit but the back ground pops up again after @pause for a beat & has my characters there again. I'm unsure how to make it so that they do not pop up again after the fade out. Anyone know?

    • What do you do if you script template for character customization has spelling errors and there is no spelling error I put the script in google to check spelling but it still has 628 spelling errors Im just confused I'm stuck

          Just ignore them. You can still publish a story with them. It's because some of the words are written together.

      • So I pretty much finished my first five chapters already but I have a problem with the character layering. I used@/CHAR moves to layer 1 so I can have him dancing or kissing using the rear animation and it shows up fine at the portal. However, when I test it at the app, it becomes a complete mess! The character doing the rear animation is behind the other character!
        Is there is different script format that will work better?

          I almost have no clue as to how the layering works, but I watched a video yesterday that said the character standing in front of the other should have a number smaller than the one standing behind...... that probably doesn't make sense, but try using 0 instead of 1?

          You need to layer every character in the scene if you specifically want characters to be in front or behind one another. You can layer characters by using this command:
          @CHARACTER1 moves to layer 1 and CHARACTER2 moves to layer 0

          Or you can layer characters when you spot place them:
          @CHARACTER spot % x y in zone # at layer #

          If you have all the matching brackets but still get that error, that means the error is somewhere else. In your case, you have 3 errors:

          1. You misspelled "readerMessage" right after the "Slightly Rude" choice option. You added an "r" at the end, so just remove the "r"

          2. You put "zoom to" instead of "zoom on" in this line:
          @/PENNY walks to spot 0.741 255 240 AND zoom to 640 230 to 243% in 5 AND KELLY is scream_angry

          3. You forgot to add an underscore for the animation "scream_angry" right under the command in number 2 above.

            • Hey, I need a bit of advice on using overlays please (as I don't use them often).

              So, I know that if you wanted to start your scene with an overlay already in place, you had to follow:
              EXT. BACKGROUND NAME - DAY with OVERLAY NAME to SCALE X-POSITION Y-POSITION in ZONE

              But how do I code exactly what I need when I scale and position the overlay to a certain position, when this is all that comes up:
              @overlay CAR ANGLE SILVER shifts to -48 -9
              @overlay CAR ANGLE SILVER scales to 0.482 0.482
              ?

              Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

                Btw keep in mind I’m using a background that I made so that’s not the issue. Also I placed my character outside of the zone, because the background is one zone and I wanted it to look like she was talking but you couldn’t see her.

                The player is supposed to open a text message and the background is the phone.
