So I’m writing a story set in the mid-1950’s and I was wondering if these outfits are fit for that era (as most authors know, Episode’s clothing for LL is pretty limited in terms of vintage/era-specific clothing, so this was kind of hard). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as well as ideas for more 1950’s outfits.
It looks like it
I believe ripped jeans became popular in the 1980s, so you might wanna cut that off from your list.
I love the outfits by the way!
episode dont have many skirts, but yeah more skirts
Yeah skirts, those longer ones that goes below the knee are great for the 50s, and just the general innocent look. Good luck <3
Here’s a video you can watch for inspiration
Those are pretty good! They look more 1950’s than mine lol
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing about the ripped jeans for the first outfit, but those are the only high-waisted jeans that they really have );
Sandy’s pants were purely contemporary at the time, her good girl look was pretty accurate to the era though.
Lol yea I know, spandex wasn’t even invented until 1959 and considering the movie is supposed to be set in the summer of 1957-1958 it was a goof. Also, we are limited to what the art catalog gives us, so while I agree it’s not historically accurate I think it gets the job done.
Ok, so what about these winter outfits? I looked at reference photos for inspiration.
My story is about teenagers in 1956 (I’ve done a little bit of research about what clothes were popular or invented in that particular year, etc., but not that much so feedback/corrections are welcome), so the outfits aren’t supposed to look especially sophisticated. Just imagine these are clothes that highschoolers are wearing in the 50’s and tell me if it feels right.
You’re welcome
