Honestly, it pains me to see immigrants from Haiti coming to different countries, in a small, wrecked boat, or whatever size the boat is, whether big or small, and see a huge amount of people on board, and then get sent back to their country.
Like, seriously, those people suffered way too much damage to be sent back to their country, and they are dying in these waters.
Some can’t swim, and some can, but seriously, they are human beings, not animals. People are just too cruel these days to realize how much help they need/want.
They want to come to this country to seek a better way of life, instead they are left to die.
COME ON PEOPLE, WHEN ARE WE GONNA WAKE UP, THAT COULD BE US SOMEDAY, AND WE ARE GOING TO GET THE SAME TREATMENT THAT THEY GOT.
If I could do something to help those people, I would do it right now. I don’t care if I don’t speak their language. I will get help from someone to help me speak their tongue. Gotta make a difference in this world, this generation needs to change, and it needs to change fast.
How would u feel, if u have a family member in that country, get on a vessel, sailing in these deep waters, then couple minutes later, u hear the news of that member passed away?
It really sucks, this actually just happened in my country a few days ago, one of those boats sank leaving the people well…dead. And I know that some of them were just desperate for a better life.
What even broke my heart more was that there were people kind of happy about it. My friend actually knew some of those people (not well but still)! It really made me think, because I know it isn’t easy over there at all. I do agree something needs to be done
Do people even fear death, or know what the heck death is? How would it feel to be dead. Can’t breath, can’t open eyes to see another day. U are dead, gone. Period. Are people even scared of death?
Yup, everytime there’s a sloop of migrants there’s always comments on social media say “sink the boats” my English teacher last year even had a student that wrote that in his essay. It’s crazy!
I do think people should have a bit more respect, because most of the problems in Haiti stemmed from their revolt, which helped in the freedom of slaves world wide! It’s kind of hypocritical because Haiti was once the wealthiest country in the Caribbean and now that its us, people want to have a xenophobic mindset
