Honestly, NYC as a setting is so overdone that it’s boring. Like, oh…look…it’s set in NYC…how original…not… (Not to diss all stories set in NYC or people from NYC. I’ve read good books and such set in New York. But VARIETY, old sport! V A R I E T Y !
I grew up in New York and I have seen not one club owner seduce an innocent girl at a club or a gang trying to kill someone (or any gang at all.)
I’m not actually saying every story should be set in NY. Of course, one or two isn’t bad, but a million a terrible.

I forgot to list desire on my common words list for Episode romance stories. But yeah, that’s another word I’m tired of hearing.
I never see mafia stories set in the actually violent American cities. Come on Episode, let me see Baltimore, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Fresno, San Fran…

Basically, some authors have a tendency to excuse and glorify crimes committed by white people. It’s weird as hell.
