About the New Hairstyles

Thank you. I guess it’s the eye smile?

Thank you for being kind. If you find anyone else who needs an explanation, I’m quite difficult to anger so I’ll give them a nice, honest but kind response. As long as they’re willing to listen! Send them my way!

You’re beautiful and I love your natural hair! Hopefully you’ll feel more represented with the new update just like I do

Now, on the other side, I think where it might be coming from is like…“Well, I shouldn’t have to explain my choices to you.” Especially if you’re a stranger. I mean…as a person that would wear their hair in braids and whatnot, not an author writing a story, LOL of course and author should respond to their readers.

But like…as a PERSON, and the character too, there may not be any reason to explain the person’s personal choice. Ya know?

Like, no one would explain why they’re wearing much of anything else, ya know? I think that’s where the misunderstanding or frustration comes from, like…I dislike having to explain myself to ANYBODY. If I show up with pink hair one day, and someone asks me “why” my response is “because I wanted to” and it’s like that with EVERYTHING. So others might feel that way, too, about braids or dreads.

That being said, I do understand both points of views. You are very reasonable, so >.>

The person on the other thread that goes, “Do not use these on white characters.” - That raises a flag IMO because like…don’t tell me what to do. Thanks. I’ll have a reason for my choices…

Or maybe I won’t? Either way, this isn’t fascism, so <3 <3 <3

Yeah. My hair is a little straight at the moment, but that’s how it looks naturally. Like when it’s washed and all.

Anyone that says otherwise, honestly, just tell 'em to fuck off >.<

You might find it questionable that my natural hair is blonde, no?

I think it’s pretty easy to explain tbh! It’s unusual to see a white person with, say, Bantu knots! I don’t think it’s much of a stretch for another character to comment on them!

I have been wondering that for a while actually!! Well, at first wondering if your hair really was blonde and if it was natural or not. X’DD

But it is blonde?? That’s so amaze!! <3 <3

So…^^ I wonder…why’s your hair blonde? X’D

Pssh. It’s unusual to see ANYBODY with Bantu knots where I’m from X’DDDD

Often when you’re describing a person, you’ll say they’re quite gothic, or they dress like a hippie or a hipster or they have a hipster beard or something. I think we should do the same with Black culture!

At least it’s a shade of blonde, and I don’t look white. :joy:

I’m just light skinned. My mom’s light like me but my dad’s dark. I’m the lightest one in my family

Leave. If you dont’ want to get it, then leave. Stop letting people explain to you just to dismiss their comments.

I’m the lightest one in my family, too. And my brother is technically, biologically not my dad’s son ^^’

Mom had him with some other guy. So he’s full whitey. X’DDD and darker than me…cause he goes out in the sun. LOLOLOL

Thank you Januva! I feel the same way when I see cultural clothing being appropriated and tattoos but that doesn’t receive the same energy I’m tired.
