Adding overlays to my new story. Pls help!

I recently started working on a new story and am trying to add an overlay. For some reason it’s not working and it’s incredibly frustrating. I’m not new to adding overlays, and it’s so confusing as to why it isn’t working. I haven’t written in a couple months, is there a new code for overlays or something because I know some of the old features in the writing tab changed. I’m really confused, if anyone knows anything could you please help a girl out.

@overlay OVERLAYNAME create
@overlay OVERLAYNAME shifts to x y in 0 in zone #
@overlay OVERLAYNAME scales to % % in 0
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 1 in 0

Or you could just add it along with the scene:
EXT. BEDROOM with OVERLAYNAME at layer #

YESS. I struggle with overlays too (but I’m sorta new so its normal). The times that I use overlays I do it with the scene cuz I dont really wanna deal with it too much (itcan be a major pain for me so I try to avoid them as much as possible.
The coding is just as xiomara17 said

EXT. BEACH LOUNGE CHAIRS - DAY with LIGHT BLUE BABY SWADDLE in zone 1

For sure. Overlays are super tricky because of how peculiar they have to be written which is annoying especially when you use one symbol wrong and it doesn’t work altogether. And since I haven’t been writing in a couple months the specifics of the codes get me, and it drives me mad. I hope you find your way around overlays tho, they’re really pretty easy to use when you figure them out, I guess I’m just kinda rusty lol.

Don’t add the zone # along with the title of the scene, do it like this:

INT.BEDROOM with OVERLAYNAME at layer 1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME shifts to x y in 0 in zone 1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME scales to % % in 0

Always remember to write the zone # with the overlay shift part, not with the scene title

Hope this helps a bit:)
