I just double checked the post… I swear when I checked it said you needed 100… I think they changed that… ? Story involves a female MC and 2 love interests. MC is broken emotionally by her past, and she holds a guard up against all romantic feelings but not for lone. But this is not a standard (cliche story) quiet, shy girl meets a bad boy and falls in love type of a story
You realise that reads don’t count until after the deadline right? You will need 100 reads after the deadline for your story to go to the next round (at least, that’s my understanding).
Also- ultimately it’s retention. Even if you get 100 reads, if people don’t read all your episodes, then it’s no good either.
Liz stated on one of the posts about how to win a contest, that you need 100 reads for them to have enough data for the retention numbers.
" * Something to note: Stories must get around 100 reads for the calculations to be statistically valid. From testing we know that if a story does not get at least 100 reads it is unlikely to be a hit with Episode Readers.
For context approximately half of all contest entries do not earn the necessary number of reads. Of the remaining half of entries that do get at least 100 reads, 15 - 30 of those stories have high enough retention to move into the next phase.
The single biggest reason stories are eliminated from contests is because readers do not go past the first or second chapters."
