Hi! I am new to all these make up stuff, but I really want to be good at it. I have trouble with everything : foundation, contouring, eyeshadow (my favorite, yet the hardest part). The only thing I can do is apply mascara
Please, give me advice
I don’t like putting on heavy make-up, I just put on a little Lancome corrector, mascara and a Korean lipstick
Watch some videos on Youtube
Thank you, I did watch videos. For beginners, usual tutorials, no use. I am thinking about make up lessons during summer But I want to put makeup on on my graduation (the official goodbye to school after each grade)
I may not be the best at makeup but I would say that I’m good at it. What I would say is to make sure you find the correct colour foundation and concealer for your skin. Go to makeup shops and have the workers tell you what they think will match your skin and if they can, have them test the colour on your face not just your hands. I don’t know where you live but hopefully there are places that do it for free. If not, go into shops where they sell makeup and test the products yourself. Finding the right colour that matches your skin is one of the most important steps when applying makeup. Watching videos is a really good way to learn but also practising what you learn will really help you improve. If you’re sitting down bored with nothing to do, lock yourself in the bathroom or stay in your room and just practice. The more you practice, the better you will become. It will come out looking funky at first especially if its your first try but I guarantee that you will get better. Just keep practicing. I would say it is better to learn things one at a time. For example start with learning how to draw your eyebrows and once you feel like you’ve gotten the hang of that, move unto trying something else and then when you feel really confident, try everything together.
I’m sorry that this is so long but hopefully one part of this sermon will help you with your journey haha
Thank you so much!!! I am sure it all will help. Do you mind me asking, are you good at contouring?
I am decent however I don’t contour often as it’s difficult to find contour that is visible on my skin. I mainly just contour my nose
Thank you
You’re welcome!
I highly recommend watching Ali Andreea channel on youtube. Her makeup tips and do & don’ts literally changed my world🤣
Will do, thank you
Seems like the foundation/contouring etc part has been dealt with by now
As for eyeshadow etc, make sure to select colours that suit your skin tone and your eye colour. Not every colour goes with your eye colour. Also depending on whether you want a summery, neutral make up or more evening/glam make up it will differ.
My mom did my make up for me sometimes when I was younger as we would mess about and I loved doing it and experimenting, so as I grew older I would try different styles, even though I don’t wear it all that often anymore I still find it fun and am happy to help you if you like, you can always DM me.
I suggest starting out simply. Don’t jump right in with blending several colours etc It’s easy enough to pick up.
Thank you . I will dm you if I have any questions (which probably will be soon
)
No problem, anytime
Thank you
Makeup is Magic
- Foundation
For Foundation, Choosing correct shade is most important.Your foundation should be 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone otherwise the foundation will turn dark.
You should take a small quantity of foundation and evenly apply small drops over your whole face. Blend your foundation with beauty blender or makeup brush. Fix your foundation with translucent powder, compact or loose powder.

Contouring
Contouring makes our face look slim. Contouring means to hide and Highlighting means to show. For Contouring, you should mark the lines on your face wherever you want to contour. You should make your face like pout . The places where contouring is done are sides of nose, jawline, sides of cheeks and above forehead. -
Eyeshadow
Eyeshadow is the most vital part of eye makeup. You should choose the colour accurately. Every colour doesn’t suits on everyone. If you are going for morning party then you should apply neutral/ matte eyeshadow and for evening party you should apply shimmery eyeshadow.
Most of the time I read beauty blogs and magazines. I have also discovered many beauty hacks and home remedies.

OMG Thank you. I actually had no idea that foundation has to be a bit litghter than your skin
Could you tell me, what colors would you recommend for hazel (green-brown) eyes? Because once I had a photo shoot and the theme was kind of magic, bright colors. The make up artist used red and blue. Heaven knows I hate such combinations, is there really no more colors (except smoky eyes colors)?
Every time I try to contour my cheeks and jawline it looks like a mess😭
Makeup takes time to reach perfection. You should regular do some practice for doing makeup. I’m pretty sure you will definitely get it. I will tell you eyeshadow colour after some time. Okay
Alright Thank you
