The rubbing of plates against each other develop friction and the pressure is released in the form of strong waves which causes earthquakes

Earthquakes: plates slide against each other.

Volcanoes: plates collide, overlapping one another.

Mid-ocean ridges: plates spread apart and molten rock rises up to the surface.

Deep-sea trenches: opposite movement of mid-ocean ridges, where magma is formed as they push against each other.
