An Introduction: Beta Reader

Hello guys and gals!

I’m Bianca, an Aussie gal who has been part of the Episode community for a LONG time. I’ve written and published stories (which are exceedingly terrible) under various pseudonyms, and have now decided to rekindle my connection with the community.

Edit: As per @black_jack’s question, I have now extended this post to include a definition.

A beta reader is someone who reads your story before you publish it (or before you release subsequent chapters/episodes), and provides you with feedback on the writing, pace, directing, choices and more! With a beta reader, you can ensure your story is at its absolute best before you release it.

In saying that, I come offering my services to you! Have you got a story tucked away that you’d like a beta reader to test for you? Well, I might just be your gal! If you’d like to request for me to take a look at your story, you can simply let me know in the comments, or send me a PM here on the Episode forums. I’ll get back to you as soon as I am able, and then we can discuss your story at length.

A good day to all!

What’s a “beta” reader. (hopefully this isn’t off topic)

Hello, love! That’s a completely valid question!

A beta reader simply reads the story before it is published, as in either while it is still in the writing stage or once the entire thing has been written out and just requires editing. Think of us like your very own editor, who will look for any errors and give you feedback on the writing, pace, directing, choices and more!

With a beta reader, you can ensure your story is at its absolute best before you release it!

Hope this helped! x

Yes it does. I’ve seen it around and had no idea what it meant! Thanks for the enlightenment!
