In March 2017, Disney Channel launched the show “Andi Mack”. It was created by Terri Minsky, who created another Disney Channel original TV show, Lizzie Mcguire. The show starts out with Andi Mack (the main character) discovering that her older sister is actually her mother. Overall, the show is well-written, handles mature situations maturely, and represents different minorities respectfully. Here’s a list of what I can remember:
Teen pregnancy
Panic attacks
Deaf individuals and sign language
Single parents
Military parents
Feminism
Being gay/coming out
Jewish characters
Have any of you guys watched this show? If so, what do you think about it?
I definitely recommend it. It’s very different compared to a lot of other shows I’ve seen on Disney Channel and other networks.
I stopped watching it after season 1 and a few episodes of season 2. It’s a really great show especially for it to be on Disney. The panic attacks, disorders, LGBT+ all of it is such a great thing to add.
Something that happened.
So Andi’s grandpa pops in real life was / is a pedophile and got arrested. He was trying to send nudes to someone younger and trying to have sex with that person as well. It disgusted me knowing there are mostly girls on set with him. The thought sickens me
