Guys since it seems that they can’t revert back to normal. The best thing to do is let Tory know that we need the lip animations fixed.
I’m sure that more updates will be here. We just have to wait.

The “talk_think_natural” animation literally looks like that one chewing trend from TikTok which made me laugh and sob at the same time because I won’t be able to take my characters seriously anymore…

Because they’re not adding any more INK animations. Their issue is that they can’t add new animations if the old ones are coded in a different way or format, if I understand this correctly. I doubt they’d lie about this, honestly. They’ve provided this info before the animations were released, too.

Why wouldn’t they keep the same animations just change them to fit the format instead of changing them completely?

My advice to everyone is to just take a small break until the situation is better sorted out.
It’s already clear that the old animations are gone but that doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world.
The mouth animations are mainly the problem. Once they fix those then it will feel more original.
At the end of the day, Tory is the one that talks to them, not us. And Tory can only look at so much in one day.
But Tory is now aware of how we feel.
I’m sure she understands how upset we are and she will make sure that we get updated.
The team will listen. I don’t think anyone would let this slide for long.
In the meantime, besides showing concerns, all we can do for now is wait.

I know, but by that logic the older limelight animations would still work… they just couldn’t add any new ones to that list. 
[Apart from all the unreleased ones that they still haven’t given us, that are featured in Episode Original’s.]
And to be honest, I’d still choose to use the older version of the limelight animations… regardless of whether that meant they could add to the older list or not.

Now THAT is what I hope they end up doing. I think they wanted to use the opportunity to make the animations more defined or realistic since they were redoing them anyway, but I’m hoping that they recreate them as identical as they can and add some of the new features (like the new angry mouth) as additional animations with new names so that everybody wins!

I don’t see how any amount of fixing can actually “fix” it, the biggest issue here is that they changed the animations and not have just been adding details forcing authors to rework their stories because the animations don’t fit anymore, like it’s insane actually.

I highly doubt that. Errors happen a lot in updates. I remember when Episode had released an Art Release update and some people were unable to see some of the things episode released. Episode was made aware of it and fixed it.
So similarly, this seems like an error because when Episode made the Instagram post about the animation update, the character they had who had Medium Straight Natural lips was looking normal.
So I think this was just an error.
Also I’m pretty sure Tory would’ve told us if there was nothing she could do. She did see the problem and it didn’t look like she already knew that.
This is what I think.
I’m sure these things can be fixed now that they have been aware.

But they currently do have two different formats?! And Tory already stated that unless an author chooses to re-publish their completed stories, then they’ll remain with the old format?!
If what you’re saying is true, then surely the old format would already have been replaced with the new one, despite whether the authors update or not?!
Like I said… it’s just all very confusing and doesn’t make much sense.

I’m not fully versed in how this all works so I can’t really tell you if it makes sense to me or not. But what I can say is that it’s not the first time this happened in Limelight- when the skin tones were replaced in 2018, the same thing happened. I have an unpublished story with the old skin tones still there, 5 years later! Like you, I don’t get the logic, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any. I’d love to know how this works out of curiosity, but don’t think Episode’s gonna tell us
