Announcing the Double Life Writer's Contest

Ahh, okay
What about a flashback? Or, like @episode.lillz said, a glimpse of the future?

Or maybe:
NARRATOR (MC)
I never thought it would happen this way.
*put a scene here
NARRATOR (MC)
Not like… |bold| this.
*put a scene here showing something crazy happening.

ikr. :slightly_smiling_face:
I’m thinking now where to put my menu.

Same, I like something which makes me learn about the story plot, starting a story with tappables or author introduction is a total turn off

At the end is the best to place it.

I’m probably gonna do the future thing and still try to include some kinda comedic element :see_no_evil:

It’s okay! I like tappable menus so if you want to start it like that, you can  Besides, you’re the author, so do whatever you want! You can also have a quick flashback scene and then the menu to make it seem a bit more… smooth?

if I ommit intro - than It depents - if it is possible great start is for me where I just right catch the main character in some significant moment - but this might not be possible for all stories.

If not I actually like some everyday scene which shows me MC.

TBH - I dislike start of the story with some future scene and then go back - BUT - this was the only way how to adapt my old story to the condition that MC has to be adapted to her second life already in 1 chapter - so I actually start my DL story with this.

Well actually my plan was to start off with the warnings, then the intro of a flash to the future, or a “cliff-hanger” intro depending on my poll , and then the menu…or something like that…im still deciding on the author intro because I know a lot of people find that extremely annoying…but since its my first one, I was just making it less then 1 minute and probably never add an author intro again :joy:

^Or possibly adding the option to skip the author intro is another idea

That is also great! I think it depends on what genre, plot etc we’re writing and work with what you feel works best

yes exactly it realy depends on the story itself and what will serve the best to your story development and pacing.
