Tangled is the Disney film, you need to read the original Rapunzel story.

no, because tangled is Disney and copyrighted, you have to look at the original by brothers grim, which is called rapunzel

The original rapunzel would work right because I want to use the type of storyline to adapt it in sci-fi.
sure if you use the original, and not Disney, which mean, no magic healing flower or hair, and no Flyn Rider.

So basically:
Let’s use Sleeping Beauty as an example.
You can make a story about a girl that falls into a coma from pricking her finger on a spindle.
You cant make her name Aurora and the witch who curses her be named Maleficent.
Those are things from the Walt Disney adaption, not from the original fairytail.
Here is what is considered an adaption of the story.
