How many extra outfits should I include in a gem choice (that I’m not coding yet because I’m coding in chronological order)–is 4 enough for 5 gems? Should I make it 5?

Are the gems just to determine the number of outfits? Or is it for a particular outfit which would unlock something else?

Number of outfits–I might do 5 to make it worth it. (And code in extra dressing games to give people a chance to wear all 5.)

My personal view on that is that is it’s not particularly worth the gems as it is just clothing.
For me, I’d be more inclined to spend 5 gems if there’s something to be gained from it. For instance, wearing a special outfit that will unlock a particular scene with someone key to the story, like a love interest or someone who will help achieve the heroic goal. But I wouldn’t spend it on just gaining some outfits in general as community authors don’t have access to unique, unreleased assets.

How about to look good when meeting an ex? Or the ability to choose what the character wears throughout the journey? Would you spend gems for that?

Idk about y’all but I’m having a really good time with writing my story! I haven’t written fantasy in a long time and it’s reminding me of writing a D&D campaign! Even if you’re not having a fantastic time, I hope you are doing okay!
One tip I got a long time ago for writing that I think might be a bit helpful for some:
If you get stuck then something might not be fitting in. You gotta figure out what that is and see if you can change/alter it, or might have to remove it. But it’s okay! You can try and fit it somewhere else or you might get a result that you like better! (:

Me personally, no, I prefer to use my gems for the moments that impact the story, like branches and extra scenes.
But some people might for the second one as it will be basically the only thing they wear I suppose. As to the first, it would depend on the circumstances really. If it was just for the ex to see my character glammed up, then no, he/she is an ex, and without further context to go off, they’re an ex for a reason.
But again, this is just my view, everyone is different

Thank you, I appreciate your opinion. This is helpful. Made me realize I might have to do polls on here to see what people don’t mind spending gems on 'cause this gem stuff is difficult to navigate.

I’m planning on adding a bonus scene at the end of each chapter, with the third chapter’s bonus scene allowing you to see all the endings.
I guess I’ll add clothing for Episode 1 (and a bonus to make the clothing worth it; but it won’t shame the reader for not picking it. I was thinking the LI could be like, “That’s cool. I don’t judge people based on their clothes” or something.)
For Episode 2, I want to have the gem option be paying 5 gems to wear savage glasses (like actual savage glasses via an overlay) as a disguise.
As for the final gem option? kdoiehfoehfoiefshgagsagaz.

That’s smart! I forgot bonus scenes count. I always love watching bonus scenes at the end of KDramas, so that would be worth gems in a story. So far I’ve made my gem choices art scenes, outfits, and choosing how the ordinary life of the character is.

Yes, but one the contest deadline happens you can no longer edit the first three chapters. Chapter beyond the first three are able to be edited.

Your title cannot be changed until after the winners are announced and put on the shelf, once the deadline is passed.
