Me realizing how painful it’s gonna be to let viewers see all 4 endings in terms of coding :sob:

Update: I’m lazy, so I’ll just write a bonus scene.

Good luck to everyone joining this contest, I cannot wait to start reading all these amazing entries!
Here’s my story I just released:

I’m legit too scared to publish :weary:

Not all my overlays are approved, so. It probably wouldn’t work anyway.

I’m seeing a lot of entries published already. If I recall correctly, people used to wait until right before the deadline because any reads that happened before the deadline didn’t count when it came to things like retention scoring. Is that not a thing anymore? :woman_shrugging:

It is!
The deadline is about 3 days from now, so people usually start publishing around now. It kinda just gives them more of a foundation to spread their story around and it allows some people to gain more support. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Don’t be scared! Even if Episode doesn’t manage to review your overlays in time I bet the story will still be amazing!
Have you maybe thought of not using those overlays?

They’re magic overlays, so changing them would be…fun, but I wouldn’t cry excessively.

I waited until the evening of the 7th to submit them because PROCRASTINATION!

Weird, I had a couple overlays I submitted yesterday morning on the 8th (past the recommendation date I know, but it was only a couple things I wanted to add, not needed to) and they got approved almost immediately.

Oh! It seems they were approved!

Does if/elif/else act funky in anyone else’s portal sometimes, or is it me?

Absolutely acts funky for me sometimes, but I cannot tell if I’m doing something wrong or it’s actually being weird.

Same. And I get a glitch where the characters are idle instead of doing their animations–I think it’s because sometimes the overlays are doing overlay things like gathering in large numbers, but who knows?

Make sure you’re using & with overlays then. @ will make them do their thing and then move on to the next thing.

I do! I think it’s when I have a busier scene when they do the thing and the background characters are like

:man_dancing: :kiss_woman_man: :woman_cartwheeling: :ninja:

That’s why I try to add overlays to the background if I can. it solves the whole “popping in” issue.

As do I! Unless there’s some ~funky magic stuff~ going on.

Here we go!

I have RL stuff to work on, so I might as well get this out of the way and try not to put off the things I actually have to do.
