yes, and if an author knows how to get their retention up to pass that initial phase then good for them. Doesn’t mean they automatically win though and no one should give up just because a “popular” author is entering.
Yeah, I find this extremely terrifying. Especially with the amount of effort I’m putting into my story. Excellent point, I’m entering anyway because I want to show people what I’m made of, ig.
I’ve met some popular authors that don’t actually have good stories. It’s really weird Most of them are very good and worked very hard to get where they are though.
It used to be alot worse then it is now. They’re learning from their mistakes veeerry slowly
Those authors already have a huge fanbase, so naturally, they will get more reads then another story by a newer author, no matter how good each story is. Not saying the big authors have bad stories, i’m saying the lesser-known stories can still be better.
ME! I’d love to discuss as well Xx
Me too, it gets exhausting for the genre to be so under-rated on episode. I think sometimes its hard to make thrillers thrilling with the community guidelines. But that’s just me.
Same. That’s a new, fresh idea nobody has done before ![]()
Okay, so here is my description: Would you read it? Does it sound interesting?
Also it includes: Advanced directing, LGBT option, extremely important choices and minigames
With every clock ticking to the end of the world, humans turn against each other & animals are poisoned with radiation. How long could a group of misfit interns possibly survive?
I hate the description limit. The story seems so boring from the description but fhiwnvfinv ug what do i do
I like it sounds intresting.
I feel your frustration with the description limit lol. Yours is great though, I don’t think it sounds boring at all!
ooooo very interesting!
YESSS!
It sounds exciting!
Sounds great! I, too, don’t like the word limit aha
So does this mean I can put a story that I’ve been working on in the contest? I haven’t published it at all…
yes as long as it hasn’t been published anywhere
Thank you!
Dude!!
There are a small difference in big and well known authors
People know about them and u cant just expect someone new to get that recognising! Cant u?
And I dont have any hate towards those authors bcz I have seen their struggles!
All I am saying id recognising takes time!
And I like this contest bcz all the authors can publish their WIPs they have been working on.
And yes, retension do help in winning a contest. ![]()
I’ve wrote a story and had 70k reads in 7 chapters and wrote a story and had 50 reads in 5. Just because an author might have stories with high reads don’t mean all their stories will do well.
Can you add me as well? Instagram @/riyawrites.epi
Hi everyone!! First time author and contest enterer- just have a few questions ![]()
-
Should I enter the “special” contest with gems?? How does it benefit?
-
When is the best time to publish?
Thank you in advance <3
Sincerely, clueless lol
-
Gems boost your rank and get your story more reads.
-
It’s best to publish the day of the deadline since reads and retention don’t count until a after that!
Thank you sm for the quick response!! <3
If you enter for the special prize by adding gems, it benefits you in the way that you can potentially be offered an opportunity to join the commission’s programme where you are invited to write a story/stories for episode to feature as official stories. (Provided that you’re over 18, I believe, as I think that’s the minimum age for payment). Do make sure if you add these gem choices though, that you remember which count and which don’t for this requirement. ![]()
Also, gems are a great way to help your rank, so that’s a helpful perk too.
Publishing as close to the deadline as you can is advisable as like K6tty mentioned, your reads and retention only count after the deadline ![]()
Best of luck!
Here is a thing, episode most likely to choose the stories with good number of reader. But as an episode writer who has no connection with any writer, will the Episode even bother to read my story? If yes then I’m joining cause I believe my story has better directing and a good storyline :)) BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE <3
They do not look at reads and decide you’re a winner.
Liz said they try to read the first episode of each entry a few years ago.
Your story will be read and reviewed by episode as long as-
-
Your story title has OM in it and it wasn’t published anywhere else
-
You submitted your story after the contest was announced and before the deadline
-
Your retention is ideal
