Announcing the REVEAL Writer's Contest!

So My story is about a 26 year old woman who had a baby at the age of 18 1/2. Her name is Milan btw, but she will be classified as “YOU”. The day she had her baby, her mother Karen told her that she couldn’t keep the baby because she didn’t want to be known as the family member who became a grandma at a young age because she’s obsessed with youth (as in face lifts and stuff because she’s obsessed with being young). (7 1/2 years later, Milan is 4 months pregnant.) And Milan wanted to keep the baby because she was a legal adult, but her mother told her no. After that, Milan hasn’t talked to her mother. So when Milan goes to work, a little girl is sitting down in the main office that calls herself Viola. (Viola is what she named her daughter). The first thing she noticed about the little girl is the fact that she has green eyes just like her. And the little girl told her that she was adopted. Then she realizes that Viola is in fact the little girl that her mother took from her when she was younger. She soon gets to know the little girl, who seems to understand that Milan is her mother. When Milan tells her husband Ray about meeting the little girl, he starts to act very suspicious and tells her not to meet up with the little girl, and to focus on the child that they are having now. But she doesn’t listen. When Milan meets up with Leah (Viola’s adoptive mother), Leah tells her to be careful of her husband. It is soon revealed that Leah is dead, and that Milan has sole custody of Viola. But her husband is still acting shady, and he becomes more angry and hostile around the little girl. I can’t share anymore because that will spoil the story, but I hope you like it! Oh and By the way, the little girl is 7 1/2

I know we have to include “Reveal” in our titles but do we also need to include this in our cover or can we just put the title there?

You just need the word ‘Reveal’ in your title. If you want it on cover, that’s fine, but it’s not required.

Okay thankyou!

I personally made two covers for my queer entry, one with “Queer:” and one without it for after the deadline when I planned to remove the “Queer” part of it.

Is it recommended to have the contest title on your cover then?

You can if you want to!
I only included it because I wanted it to better reflect my title at the time, but it was pretty small so not a lot of people probably noticed it.

Here’s a photo of my cover from the queer contest
