It takes me around two to three weeks for one chapter, I was lucky enough I already had one chapter ready when the contest was announced. That allowed me to meet the deadline 
I’m optimistic with practice I’ll be able to reduce that time

It’s 03:43am where I am and even though I’ve been creating my overlays for the past hours I’m still not done yet… I’m so tired, so I’m definitely gonna go to bed now

17th March - 5:31 a.m. welcome to insomnia world 
but for real, I just adding sounds and music; last touch for story so I can publish soon my first 5 chapters and then I can focus on writing 6-7, because I’m excited for my storyline (especially few background characters 
).

I was proudly patting myself on the back too lol Like adding a cup onto the counter after they’ve drank from it, I was like wow amazing look how “realistic” that is lol but dang, you even went to the extent of adding shadows lol

I like all sorts of humor from sick, dark twisted to childish corny humor. Like even things as silly as what did the grape do when it got stepped on? It let out a little wine. I for whatever reason was cracking up from this joke lol I’ll be like nudging people next to me like do you get it? A little wine

… I think maybe because I’m always sleep deprived everything seems hilarious to me lol.
Oo yesshh! I feel like the best stories are ones that come from something we’re passionate about. And if murder mysteries is your jam, I bet it’ll be a hit! And I’d totally read it! I would love if someone made some story similar to this old school pc game called where in the world is Carmen Sandiego or the murder mystery board game (Clue) lol. I think that would be a cool interactive story game. 
Regarding your parking lot background not getting approved:
Before I started to make my own backgrounds I would use these Episode ones for “parking lots.”:
EXT. CAMPUS ENTRANCE - DAY
But it has cars in the parking lot area.
Or I’d use:
EXT. GEORGIA CHURCH - DAY
For an empty parking space.
Or the area closer to where the dumpsters are to cut out the diner view:
EXT. CLASSIC DINER - DAY
At least those ones are Episodes so you don’t have to worry about getting them approved.
I don’t know what kind of parking lot you wanted but I’ve made these ones. If these are something you were looking for, I can dm them to you without the watermark of course. Lol They might still get approved on time

I have been getting them for weeks and so I really hope it is only on my side. I tole episode but it has been weeks since they told me anything on it. I would usually be patient but the deadline makes it impossible for me not to want to rush them.

Yess! We share the same struggle lol 
I’ve checked out some of those threads too and there’s so many different opinions/likes/dislikes/wants and it definitely was persuading me to make certain changes that I got stuck a few times but I eventually decided to stay true to what “I” feel works good in my story and then see what the reader’s thoughts are on it after it’s published and see if I can find some common complaints and common likes and then tether it to that. I think what’s important is being proud of your story, and to enjoy writing it since that really reflects through writing in my opinion and that you enjoy reading it as well otherwise I wouldn’t expect anyone else to enjoy it if I didn’t really like it myself.
Lol I feel you on doubting, I started to doubt myself right from the beginning. I think I was about 2 weeks late starting. And that’s the worse is to have those doubts and expectations of not making it on time. That pretty much makes you behave subconsciously in ways that makes it come true. Lol We are our own saboteur. 
But I hope you’re able to get yours finished on time and have further developed self-encouragement and perseverance! 
People can say a lot of positive things which is inspiring and influential but the things that counts the most and makes the greatest impact is our own little voice in our head. So try to keep it positive or at least end every negative thing thought/said with something positive like me for instance, “I’m not going to make my story on time which sucks BUT I’m proud of how far I got with it under my conditions and I’m glad I tried!”
