Whaaat
omg. Did you tell your parents about it?
Wow! Shouldn’t they have given u what they gave everyone else? (:
I didn’t! It bothers me know how much racist sh*t I put up with in the past.
They should’ve. It’s still upsetting that they did that.
I understand that, I hope no one has done that to u since (:
That’s so unfair! They can’t just assume that you don’t know English… that’s just wrong
sorry that’s happened to you ):
Thank you! No one has
I’m glad (:
That’s so mean!!
I don’t know they printed Geronimo Stilton in Chinese tho.
How can they assume the others know English. I mean other students could have something else as their first language but I bet they didn’t think about that. You can’t assume from looks. They should have asked what you are comfortable with. Like if you made a request for a book in another language for you to understand better then it would be ok but assuming is stupid.
Haha yeah that’s cool.
Thank you. Luckily this was a long time ago and nothing like this has happened since.
When certain Americans assume that just because part of your family or your whole family is not from the United States that you’re automatically very different from Americans and deserve to be treated differently. (By the way, for my case, I was born in the U.S., so…yeah.)
#annoying
Moreover the people who has this thinking is either an idiot or purposely to get on your nerves.
exactly
You’ll be surprised how many people are just ignorant idiots
You’d think we’d leave that type of mindset back in the 20th century, but here we are. At least half of Americans hold very skewed point of views-- and that’s not an exaggeration. I’m not sure about other countries ofc.
Yes! Don’t stereotype or assumed that it’s totally impossible!
Hi I’m Indian and I feel like a lot of people assume I’m really good at everything. Like they assume I’m really smart and get good grades all the time and really just good at everything. They probably also think I may go to an Ivy League college and become some neurosurgeon. No one says it outwardly, but I think I get that vibe off some people. Well here’s the tea: I do get bad grades sometimes. YES I HAVE GOTTEN D’S. BELIEVE IT. I’m not anywhere near perfect nor a genius, and I won’t be a doctor and I definitely am not smart enough to get into an Ivy League school. Just because I’m Indian doesn’t mean I’m good at everything and I’ll become a doctor or a businesswoman or an engineer.
When I was 8, I think I was bullied for being Indian (as in I think it was bullying, not that i wasn’t sure if it happened or not). I’m not sure it was exactly racism though. That’s not what I classify it as. Three boys kept chanting “Indian” behind me and wouldn’t stop even when I asked them to. They even had the audacity to say “No.” I literally feared for my life. I thought they were going to hurt me. I thought they would push me into the pool and I would crack my head on the bottom.
My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced bullying and/or racism for anything, not just for the color of their skin.
Sorry, did I go too deep?
No, you didn’t go too deep. I’m sorry to hear about that
That is Racism though!
