“Some female MC’s in episode stories say that they are feminists and then body-shame or sl*t-shame other females. The irony.”

“I call it ‘awareness about sxual abuse’, yet people call it 'glorifying sxual abuse’. Wow, so how are we supposed to make people aware about that topic if you keep considering it as a taboo in society? No wonder s*xual crime rates are high BECAUSE EVERYONE IS SO FREAKING DENSE!!!”

I agree.

“Idk what ppl are on about, Episode has been geared towards a younger audience since the beginning as shown by the hundreds of cliche bad boy and high school stories. And technically 13 - 18 is still legally a child/ minor, whether you or your friends/ relatives/ perspectives or whatever disagree, it’s not like episode creates the rules for the App Store, they just follow them. Ivy (the mature app) is in development for a reason, so save the sexual/ spousal/ parental abuse and raising awareness about sensitive topics or anything else that goes against the guidelines for that app. Tbh the guidelines haven’t changed that much from the beginning either, other than the swearing and cover rules- you’ve never been allowed to go into explicit details about those topics and you’ve never been allowed to show excessive violence, the new guidelines just clarify what constitutes as excessive and explicit since ppl were trying to find loopholes. This conversation gets me so heated, if your story breaks the new guidelines, then it more than likely broke the old ones and is not meant for this platform, there are TONS of other sites you could write on so why waste everyone’s time”

I don’t think that’s what people are saying, they’re saying that even though episode is “geared towards a younger audience” it’s still meant to be 13 +, so why should we have to change our stories to fit the needs of kids that aren’t supposed to be on the app? And some stories didn’t necessarily break the guidelines, I’ve even had someone say it on my story before and mine didn’t break guidelines.

I get this sort of thing too. I may or may not have written a power-fantasy story where the MC tries to fix the world, like fixing the Chinazi thing and North Korea and women’s rights and stuff… I swear it’s less shallow than it sounds. Overactive conscience and projecting your morals (which, in cases like these, are correct morals). I figure it’s not inherently a bad thing, as long as it doesn’t involve over-retaliating against people, or gathering in your brain for too long and making you feel negative.

The return of the infamous girlBTW. :eyes:

I read the first one, I didn’t find it bad compared to other stories. The only thing that really makes it unique among the mafia genre is that it was first, that’s it. The LI is kind of rude he keeps calling her ‘woman,’ like ew, but is that aggressive-assertive-knows-what-he-wants type, and is loyal to the MC. I found the plot was slower than I expected, and dragged at times. But, again, if you read it after having read other mafia stories, I’m sure your reaction will be “That’s it? Why so infamous?”

Miss Mj’s stories just keep moving on and on round a circle. The main point stands the same – the female MC has to fall in love with the big, bad, mafia boi :woman_shrugging:

Okay, but in all seriousness, my issue is less with Chain Reaction existing and more with so many other authors trying to imitate it. CR exists. I can handle it. I don’t care for it, I don’t agree with it’s “message,” but at the end of the day Miss MJ is one author who’s doing her thing and she’s apparently not breaking guidelines or Episode would have (I hope) gotten onto her in whatever way they deemed fit.
To me the real “issue” is that we now have so many mafia/gang stories that basically have the same plot-line with different characters instead of people at least attempting originality. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I could never actually get into the Chain Reaction series. I started reading the first story once, then stopped after like 5 chapters cause I just didn’t feel like continuing. Then more Chain Reaction related stories came out, the series got popular, everybody was talking about it, and I think one even got featured (), so I decided to give it another shot. I read like one more chapter and stopped again. And in the end I decided it just wasn’t my thing :woman_shrugging:

“There’s a writing animation for characters in INK (write_notepad). I wish LL characters had a writing action too. It is so difficult to use several overlays to portray that they are just writing something :pensive:
