Hi @epi_summer
one because sometimes when bad boy and good girl mix it don’t fix perfect because that not how it go but if you do good guy to good girl is good but please not like others story who have more then one because it so toxic to point were some readers don’t like as in how the plot and story went from south to eastern but please do only one love interest but if you doing a genre for girl or boy for readers to choose who they love is ok but makes sure it not more then 3 or passed 10 but it your choose and how story go because you make plot and more to it but make sure that story about character and how relationship is connection comes but if it romance make sure it sweet and in a romance

agree with @Mikaelaep @lanafrazer_episode

As a creator, I would suggest starting with one. It’s easier because you don’t have to stress about the branches, the MC’s dynamics with them, and the ending (which would be a total pain in the backside to code when you’re already struggling with one path).
As a reader, I’d say I’m willing to read up to 3 LI in a single story. Whatever the outcome will be, I can accept it just fine. Plus, it’s not something I’d look at while reading a story unless it’s romance.
But if you’re writing romance, just one is fine. 2 is better for drama while one is easier to focus all your romanticism on one person.

Part of me wants to say 2 because the drama that comes with it is exciting to watch :joy:
But 1 is a more suitable choice, in my opinion. Although, both are great

I like 1 but as a lesbian 2 is kinda better, although u could have the reader decide the gender of the li. :two_hearts:

I personally prefer two, just in case I don’t like one of them. That way, I have an opportunity to get out of being stuck with a love interest I’m not fond of, but it can also make it hard to choose between them if I like both, luckily for me though, that doesn’t happen often. Most of the time, I like one of the love interests and stick with that one.

If it’s more of a narrative-type story though rather than interactive, I tend to prefer one love interest for the MC and watch their dynamic grow throughout the story and invest my emotions into their ship.

I like two! I like having to make a decision!

i only prefer one, but sometimes having 2 makes the story a lot more interesting :]

2! And if it’s not a romance, preferably an option not to date anyone.

I like stories with 1 LI, both as a reader and writer. As a writer it stresses me out because I have to change the plot to fit for 2 so I don’t do that and also I hate branching.
And as a reader I’d like to see MC with 1 LI, because 2 LI just makes unnecessary tension for story and I don’t like it, BUT if your plot is suitable for 2 and you give readers choices to choose to spend time with one of them like what Lucas did in Summer fever so I think go for it. But it’s still up to you as the writer.
And some people like to spend time with both LIs but most of us already like 1 of the LIs and we know we’ll end up with that one so we don’t want to spend time with the other one that’s why it’s a better idea to have choices throughout your story. And point system is a good option for this.
And sorry for my long answer   Hope it helped you.
