especially if the mc was a poc would people be put off? is it more desirable to readers if they are able to customise or ??
It honestly depends on the reader. If you feel like your story needs CC, then put CC. If you feel like your story doesn’t need it, then don’t add it.
It depends, I personally don’t care so much. But if the author choose no cc I love it when they use that opportunity to to limb overlays and special poses
Yes there will always be those people asking for cc even if you state the character has a certain race/ethnicity but don’t be put off by that. As long as your story is good people will read it regardless. You can put limited cc to try to appease some readers but the most important thing is that the story and what you put in it is to your liking.
what types of special poses ???
i never thought about limited cc that’s an option !
I don’t mind cc at all. If it’s an option, then I will take advantage, but if not, it doesn’t bother me.
editing special poses, can be for example the MC sitting on a motor bike with a helmet. the edit would be an overlay. (just to make it look more real).
Totally not necessary but always fun to see when authors does this.
i’m a new author on here so that’s foreign to me but despite the fact that i don’t have much experience i’m doing my best to include advanced directing and things like that
In my new story I want to represent a ethnicity, but since I know a lot readers love cc
I give them limited cc.
If the MC is supposed to be the reader, use CC.
If the MC is a character, don’t use CC.
I tend to relate more to a main character if I can customise them and from what I have see especially with the amount of good quality templates that can be used its a really good idea to add cc. The only exception I can think of to not have it is the main characters features being a main plot point in the story or as @its.emmaepisode said doing limb overlays and custom poses
For me it dont matter
okay so would u recommend cc for a story that has focus on many characters of different nationalities? like the fact there are many nationalities is an important factor of the story. should the mc be able to cc to the readers nationality or do i leave it as the nationality i intended for the mc?? i’ve been contemplating this for a few days but i’m still unsure bc if i left it as the intended nationality i would be able to freely edit things in the future such as documents and passports and stuff but if i have cc i’m not sure how i could incorporate what the reader types (i would have a scene where the reader is asked their name age and nationality and if i was to cc then i would have them type it in). i’m not sure how i could make the script remember what the reader types for example let’s say later in the story mc is asked their nationality- would it be possible for the script to remember what was said by mc when customising??? i know this is long and probably confusing but if u can help me i’d appreciate this
I am not and lot’s of people in forums also aren’t but lot’s of people who only read, don’t have fourms etc. More likely like to play where you can fully customize yourself because then you can feel like you are really in that story!
i don’t mind but i will say this, you will probably get more reads if u add cc.
i understand that hmmm
It depends on the reader. I had one who was begging me to even add cc for the main bad guy who is not at all love interest and MC is actually fighting him trying to save the word… like if you would ask to CC lord voldemort… I have also seen authors werbally abused when not giving cc to story.
So some do take it like question of life or death to see their face as MC.
On the other hand there are many very sucesfull stories with no CC.
So in case the ethnicity of the MC doesnt really matter for the story adding CC is more on the safe side. But its your story so do what you feel comfortable with.
At the end its impossible to make story to be loved by everybody anyway.
The problem with not putting CC is the fact that some readers just don’t read the story because you don’t include CC. They just get out of it without even reading. Even when I really don’t want to include CC, I still do it.
that’s what i’m thinking too :// idk i’ll figure out what i want to do ig
