Ahh, thank you so much!
No problem! Reading it now!
oof I’m not very good at those LOL…
I’m okkkkkk but not good lol.
Phew ok, I was gonna say I’m trash!
But yassss… do you have an Instagram?
ooh, what is it? So we can talk and I can find out when the story is published!
Wasn’t going to haha!
See ya, girl! Good luck!
No problem! See you there!
Ugh it’s so hard to get reads nowadays. I’ve been trying to boost up my reads for about two days and only got 62 as of today
it’s frustrating, especially when you put your heart into it
Okay, first up, 62 reads in two days is AMAZING! I had like 14 reads or something lmao.
And yeah, I feel you! It’s something all of us have to go through, I guess. But we’ve been trying to think of ways to help new authors out, so 'case you have any ideas, feel free to share them!
That’s actually pretty good if you think about it…
Let’s say you have 3 (?) chapters, and let’s say the people reading your story are reading all three episodes… that’s 62 reads across three chapters would mean just over 20 people have read your story in 2 days. I say that’s enough to not lose faith in your self
Yeah, I have to admit it raised faster than normal. But there’s this part of me that just gets all pessimistic, you know? I entered the fantastical contest, but I actually don’t mind losing at all. It’s just the fact that maybe the story isn’t good enough. Then there’s this whole thing driving me to improve the story even more, even though I have no idea what to change/add
I certainly hope so!! My pessimistic ass is just getting the best of me loool
I can relate to this on a whole new level. I suddenly tend to get pessimistic and start doubting my story, too. And then like you said, getting the urge to improve my story but not knowing what exactly to do. SO RELATABLE.
But, don’t worry. The future’s full of surprises. I had basically come to a dead end with my story, and it felt like days since I’d gotten a single read. You have no idea how depressed I was. And then, out of nowhere, the author who won best directing for the H & V contest read my story and gave me a huge shout out. (she’s amazing, by the way!) After that, I got nearly a hundred reads in 24 hours. My point is that you’ve just got to keep faith and stay optimistic, even when it’s tough. I know you’ve worked very hard on your story, and it’s all going to pay off.
Wow. That’s actually pretty cool!
We really shouldn’t rush these things, huh? Anyway, thanks so much for the motivation!! Best of luck to us writers
Hehe, ikr!
Yep, being patient is really the key here. Anyhow, you’re very welcome!
And yeah…best of luck to us.
I totally agree! I’m not sure if most of you are familiar with Webtoons but they have this category on the app where all new launched stories appear as they get published or updated and it’s really cool cuz everyone gets to notice your story if you’re a new author. I wish we had something like that on episode, the only way I can promote my story is through the forum or Instagram which I’m not having much luck with and I don’t wanna spam but … it’s the only way to get attention ;-;
How do you guys get reads. I mean, I have tried to advertise my story on the forums and on Instagram, but the best I can get is like 3 reads per day on those days I advertise. Talk about a lot of work to get a few reads… I’ve asked for a lot of reviews and my story has even been recommended on Instagram, but still no reads. It’s my first story, but I know I don’t have directing errors or spelling errors. I always ask for beta readers to check before I publish. And I’ve been told I have a great story, with a unique plot. So, if someone knows how to advertise better or how to get more reads some way, let me know.
Your story was one of the best stories I’ve read so far from the contest and I’ll be pretty upset if you didn’t win. I wish they didn’t choose winners based on views if not because the story is seriously good, ya feel?
I’ve made a read for read thread, posted a read for read image on my IG with a million tags (I even added episode authors) and nothing
I’m starting to think this is impossible
