My family’s from India, but I was born and raised in the US.
(But I’ve grown up listening to Indian music- classical and film songs- and watched way more Indian films than English movies).

I have gone back to the Philippines a few times. I usually keep in touch with like my relatives through Viber or Facetime them once in awhile. My family also send them Balikbayan boxes and then they sometimes send back stuff from the Philippines for my family. But, for the most part, my parents and I still keep in touch with our roots and culture on a regular basis through like the types of food we eat, speaking the language (although I can’t really speak tagalog and have limited understanding), talk about the Philippines and my parents telling stories about living there and stuff, and sometimes watching filipino tv shows or listening to OPM (original philippines music).
