Avatar Name Input won't work

I don’t understand it anymore. I wanted to write a new story but the Avatar Name Input doesn’t work there. So I thought, perhaps there’s something wrong. So I copied the name input from my current story (Living With A Stranger) and put it into my new story. It didn’t help. And while I was looking, I accidently took away the text from my input in the current story. I made all of it undone till the script was back, but now, it doesn’t work anymore. I can’t enter a name (anymore). The What’s Your First Name text doesn’t appear. And the name is changed to Auto Bot.
Then I tried to add the script again, but this happens, like it happened with my new story:

Now what? Please help me, I’ve ruined my story now. And I was so happy with it. :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

you did ruin it, its just a simple error. Don’t panic. XD

If you’re previewing in the web previewer, it won’t let you enter a name. It’ll automatically say autobot. Try previewing it on the mobile app.

The worst part is, because I edited this very little thing, people probably need to read the first seven chapters again.

no, they wont read it again unless they replay the story.

When I read stories and people customized a few things, Episode sents me back one chapter because of that. I really hope they all don’t have to start over then.

But now I added the input to the story again, but, as you can see, there’s no character appearing on the screen. Then it will go wrong anyway, won’t it?

that is if you didnt finish read the first chapter, it does start over like tht. Once you finish reading a chapter, it won’t take you back.

But what shall I do with the input? If I add it again, it won’t be linked to my avatar anymore since there’s no avatar to choose from.

What is the characters display name? And name input does not work on web preview. Test it in the app :slight_smile:

Delete this name input template and just put
input What’s your name?|What’s your name?|Done(FIRSTNAME)

Use FIRSTNAME for your characters display name in the character creation part in the portal.

I hope I don’t need to change the (YOU) also, cause that’s gonna be a lot of work, since I used it everywhere…

No you won’t. YOU is the script name for that character. FIRSTNAME is what will appear on the speech bubble & if another character says her name [FIRSTNAME]
