Don’t feel sorry! It means I don’t feel sexual attraction. Yes, this means I can think someone is attractive, it just means that I don’t feel a sexual attraction towards them. The best way I can explain this is like this:
When you are in high school, it’s your first year. Your best friend is crushing on a guy. You ask her why she likes this guy so much and she gives the explanation “He’s really cute… and um… funny?.. and yeah” and you can tell it’s cause they are physically attracted to them. Asexual’s don’t get that feeling. Asexuality is a spectrum so I’m just speaking from my personal view.
Asexuality has nothing to do with an individual’s romantic orientation. So this means while you may not be sexually attracted to someone, you can feel emotionally attracted/connected and can have a preference. So you can be asexual and bi, asexual and gay, asexual and straight. So when you are asexual and you have a “crush” on someone it is because you feel an emotional connection. That’s how Asexual’s can be in relationships too.
We do not have sexual desires and we do not have sexual preferences. Only romantic desires and preferences.
