I read the thread about creating the blurred background effect similar to the one in Saige Mercer’s The New Girl.

To do this I used the suggested:
@overlay _______ opacity 0 in 0
@overlay _______ opacity 1 in seconds
For some reason, the blurred overlay is making the original background brighter than before, and I’m not sure why. It sort of ruins the transition, as the background will go as commanded, but from super bright to regularly blurry.
Weird brightness:
Once the overlay fades in the brightness goes away, so I’m wondering why this is happening and how to fix it; or if anyone has had a similar issue.
Any tips?
