i have to. i’ve been seeing many people talk about diversity and how they’re adding it in their story. i think diversity is a good thing but about having more male mc’s, i think overtime more stories will involve it. im thinking about it once i have more time
Diversity isn’t just skin colour, it’s personality, gender, body shapes. Adding in a poc into a story or a gay best friend for the sake of not being hated on for lack of diversity is tacky.

Sooooooo true. Not everyone is perfect in body shape, and not everyone is that typical girl/boy that justs “sits on the couch all day” and nobody should worry about being hated on based from what their comfortable on, itsokay, and makes me mad that people like, CHANGE EVERYTHING just because of that reason.
I have a wee complaint about this matter though.
I’ve come across a story that emphasizes too much on having a male MC by the means of making their story unique or worth to read but the thing is, it feels more like a female MC in a male’s body, if you know what I mean. I guess what I’m saying is, what’s the point of having a male MC if his actions and traits don’t differ from the general females? I personally love to see more masculinity or at least behaviors and thoughts that distinguish guys from girls —because let’s be honest, males and females are not the same even in non-physical aspects.
Thats what I’m saying too.
Give me an example i’m confused lol
Kinda like what @Epi_Info said. Why make a male MC story if he’s just gonna act like a female? Except if that was a crucial detail to his personality.
Unless what you meant was a story example? jk lol

Moved to Episode Fan Community since this isn’t about story creation. Make sure to check out our Forum Tutorial for more info about where to correctly create topics, and feel to PM me if there are any questions.
Well I’d say the problem is that most of the community is female. I won’t write a story with a male MC simply because I don’t know how to. There are some female writers who have male MC’s.
The main issue here is that Episode designed their app for young females. Young girls was their target demographic. Not saying that’s right or wrong, but that is the reason why there aren’t as many male MC’s. The video game world is dominated my males, so this was their attempt at creating a space for female gamers.
Episode was made for young women, so as some girls will write about males, some write about themselves because they have more knowledge about females.
Hey don’t attack me on this, I’m just saying exactly why Episode was created.
Im not, if it sounds like it sorry ;-;
All good
