I want the alleyway just like this, but I want the background to be cut out so that i can put an overlay in it. Do you know what I mean?

Yes, so that it will look like a side street. I want my character standing in the corner and watch someone leave a coffee shop. And therefore I need the back wall removed so that I can put a background with the coffee shop in it.
