Can anyone explain to me what is "Early Access"? đŸ€”

So
I have been seeing and hearing everywhere the term “Early Access”
 what does that mean? :thinking::sweat_smile:

Where authors make u pay gems to read a chapter of their story early (:

U can either pay gems to read early (before everyone else) or u can wait for the time frame of waiting to end then read for free (:

So
it’s a kind of spoiler ? That we can see if we pay gems?

Early access is just what is sounds like. You pay 8 gems to read a chapter before those who can’t/don’t want to pay gems to read early. It is another way for authors to implement gems to up their ranking without making it impact the plot in any way. A lot of people don’t like this and told episode that but they still made it a feature. :woman_shrugging: I personally don’t/ will not ever use my gems for it but if you are impatient and want to support your favourite authors then you can pay for it.

This is true. I hate this feature. U see I like reading stories which are complete n big. I started a series which says complete but when I reached to the last chapter it says pay 8gems to get the early access.
It’s ridiculous when u are saying that the story is complete yet the final chapter isn’t released unless u pay 8gems.

Yes, I agree with you. It’s also annoying and ridiculous how they the title says “chapter 11 out now” but when you go into the story, you literally get that early access thrown at you and you have 8 gems or wait 6 days or a week. And let’s be real, nobody wants to waste 8 gems on just to read the chapter that the only released or wait a 6 days to week JUST read the chapter with ads!

And it turns off potential readers of the story. Personally, I FOCKING hate that feature. I hope someday they will remove it.

They should remove this feature and I miss where we could read the new chapters for free when the author released it. If you don’t know, authors have the option to put the new chapters on early access and one thing that makes me annoys me a LOT, that authors are putting all the new chapters on early access! What the hell!? In my opinion, that we make you lose readers beacuse they will get fed up with that early access and pay 8 for every new chapter!

And it’s worse when the author updates very rarely, and out of two chapters, only one is free :rage:

That’s very annoying! Out of 2 chapters, there’s only 1 free!? What’s the point of releasing 2 new chapters and there’s only 1 free, that’s another way in my opinion that authors will lose readers.

I have a question
What if you prefer to read without early access and you check the author’s Instagram story for updates and find out spoilers because they reposted early accessers’ screenshots? Did this happen before?

Usually authors tell people not to spoil it by posting screenshots. An author I follow on ig tells people they are not allowed to post anything until everyone has a chance to read it and that if they want to discuss it then they can message the author about their thoughts. I don’t know about other authors tho. :woman_shrugging:

Doesn’t that seem counter-intuitive? People use early access because they probably can’t get enough of the story and prefer to read it and discuss it earlier than everyone else but if they are not allowed to do that, there’s no point lol

Plus waiting 1 week seems a bit much, at least 3 days would be more reasonable.

The week thing is episodes fault the authors can’t help the amount of waiting time. If they know someone who has read the chapter then they can discuss it with them. They just can’t publicly because it wouldn’t be fair. And reading on early access doesn’t mean they want to discuss it maybe they just want a good read and are impatient in general. Like I might love a story but I don’t personally want to spend my gems on it because I am patient enough but others are not.

Yes that 3 days is reasonable but in my opinion, I think it should be 1 to 2 days or when the new chapter releases at whatever time, you have to wait 1 hour or pay 1 gem.
