So I want the readers to be able to customize the name of the MC and I know how to do that but there are some flashback scenes where I want the younger version of the MC (like young_NAME OF THE MC) but I don’t know how to use the name that the readers have put in when the MC goes into flashback and is a child character.

Can anyone please help me with this ?

To make it easier you can use the same character but change their clothes if they look the same as when they are young and it would be easier

i’m not 100% that you can do that but I guess you could let the reader customise a character as how they would want their younger version of themselves to look but limit the customization on like eyebrows and eyes

What about the customisable name, do they have to put the name again for the younger version as well?

To do what I just suggested yes they would so that the characters have to same names

I just want to add smth! I discovered that u can make a character preview something (a feature, outfit) so then, the reader doesn’t have to cc. U can just make the young version of the character preview a new outfit & lip color (For example). Using the @CHARACTER previews Feature then @CHARACTER unpreviews Feature. Hi! I don’t know if I’m extremely late, but you could try changing the younger version’s display name so it matches with the MC’s name. An example is if your MC’s display name is NAME, then you could change the young MC’s display name to NAME as well, then you continue the same way you had. I’m not really sure if this works, though. :woman_shrugging:t4:

I’m sorry that I’m so late but your suggestions worked. I used the previews and unpreviews
coding and changing the display name and it worked. Thank you so much :blush:
