You can check Joseph Evan’s Youtube page. He has taught how to make custom backgrounds and Cover photos using this software called “GIMP”. It is a very easy and user-friendly software.

I use a combination of IbisPaint X and PicsArt
Can you teach me to do backgrounds as well? Only if you have time though

So, this is how you make Overlays. For starters, lets learn how to make a coffee mug overlay. 
Step 1 - Open Google, search Coffee mug PNG image and download any image with black and white square background.
Step 2 - Google Peko-step and open the website.
Step 3 - Click file and open image file. Upload the image that you want to make an overlay of.
Step 4 - Just click the background(black and white squares) twice or thrice till the background becomes transparent.
Step 5 - Click file and save the image.
Step 6 - Open the Episode portal, click overlay and upload your image!
Viola! Your overlay is now ready!
