Car tire overlay

Hi. I have a problem with my tire overlay. I wanted the tire to rotate and shift until the car stops. Unfortunately, the tire seems to move too fast and them come back to car overlay when rotation starts. I don’t know where the mistake is in the script :c I’ll be grateful for any advices.

&overlay SILVERCAR4 create
&overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 214 -50
&overlay SILVERCAR4 scales to 1.024 1.024
&overlay SILVERCAR4 moves to layer 1
&overlay SILVERCAR4 opacity 1 in 0
@pause for 0.01
&overlay TIRE2 create
&overlay TIRE2 shifts to 265 -5
&overlay TIRE2 scales to 0.906 0.906
&overlay TIRE2 opacity 1 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 moves to layer 2
@pause for 0.9
&zoom on 158 0 to 290% in 3
sound car_off
&overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 111 -50 in zone 1 in 2
&overlay TIRE2 shifts to 196 -5 in zone 1 in 2
&overlay TIRE2 rotates 360 anchor point 0.5 0.5 in 2

on the gif it look great to me so I am not sure what is the problem?

So just in general - if the car and the tore do not move simultanoustly in the same time it means they do move in different lenght - the distance between the first and second spot must be the same for both overlays - so you just need to do the math to make it exctly the same.

But i am realy not sore if this is the issue because on the video it looks it moves simultanously.

Here (different zoom):

  • I’ve tried changing the time but it didn’t work :c It’s jumping even more tbh…

Isn’t the wheel suppose to be from right to left since the car is starting from right and moving to the left?
It seems like the wheel is going from the opposite direction.

obvisousy your starting spot for the tire is not right …pause the picture before it moves and make sure both tire and car are on right spot

The problem is that the tire is put on the right side as it should be :sweat_smile: . I have no idea why is it moving from the opposite direction. I’ve tried almost everything… :x

start

Shifting seems to work when there’s no rotation included in the script:

withoutrotation

But when rotation is added:

withrotation

Is it possible that rotation influences shifiting of the overlay? :confused:

When you create the tyre overlay, rotate it 359 in 0, pause the script and then move it to where you want it to start, copy the shift spots for this and replace with the first. Then when it comes to shifting it with the zoom and the car, put rotates 1 in 2 and it should move in line with the car and rotate the right direction. I’m a bit rusty on rotating I haven’t written anything for a while so lemme know if it works :crossed_fingers:t2::grimacing:

You need to crop as close to the wheel as possible because your anchor point is 0.5 0.5.
By using the anchor point 0.5 0.5, you are rotating the center of the overlay, so if you do not crop it proportionally, you are basically rotating the entire PNG background, including the transparent background.

Could you write it in the script, please? :no_mouth:

I will be very grateful as I have no idea how to put this :sweat_smile:

It is :c I corrected it and re-uploaded but still doesn’t work properly :c

wheeltrim

I tested it out, but the overlays might be different from yours, but here’s the code:

&overlay SILVERCAR4 create
&overlay SILVERCAR4 opacity 1 in 0
&overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 135 -61 in zone 1 in 0
&overlay SILVERCAR4 scales to 3.724 3.724 in 0
&overlay SILVERCAR4 moves to layer 1

&overlay TIRE2 create
&overlay TIRE2 opacity 1 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 rotates 360 anchor point 0.5 0.5 in 2
&overlay TIRE2 shifts to 228 92 in zone 1 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 scales to 4.200 4.200 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 moves to layer 2

@/pause for a beat

@/overlay TIRE2 shifts to 149 92 in zone 1 in 2 AND overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 57 -61 in zone 1 in 2

Thank you for that Dear :relaxed: I’ve tried your version but, unfortunately, it looks like this after shifting :sweat_smile:

Hmm if you can send me the car and the wheel overlay.
The wheel doesn’t look like the wheel you sent above though, like, the rubber is gone.

Sure :relaxed: Here you go:

wheeltrim

Yes, I corrected it to check if that’s the problem :sweat_smile: Sorry for that. Here’s the previous one:

I’m using the wheel without the rubber, you can copy and paste this script and amend the scaling.

&overlay SILVERCAR4 create
&overlay SILVERCAR4 opacity 1 in 0
&overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 104 36 in zone 1 in 0
&overlay SILVERCAR4 scales to 1.456 1.456 in 0
&overlay SILVERCAR4 moves to layer 1

&overlay TIRE2 create
&overlay TIRE2 opacity 1 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 rotates 360 anchor point 0.5 0.5 in 2
&overlay TIRE2 shifts to 225 90 in zone 1 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 scales to 1.608 1.608 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 moves to layer 2

@/pause for a beat

@overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 26 36 in zone 1 in 2 AND overlay TIRE2 shifts to 145 90 in zone 1 in 2

&overlay SILVERCAR4 create
&overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 214 -50
&overlay SILVERCAR4 scales to 1.024 1.024
&overlay SILVERCAR4 moves to layer 1
&overlay SILVERCAR4 opacity 1 in 0
@pause for 0.01
&overlay TIRE2 create
&overlay TIRE2 rotates 259 anchor point 0.5 0.5 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 shifts to 265 -5
&overlay TIRE2 scales to 0.906 0.906
&overlay TIRE2 opacity 1 in 0
&overlay TIRE2 moves to layer 2
@pause for 0.9
&zoom on 158 0 to 290% in 3
sound car_off
&overlay SILVERCAR4 shifts to 111 -50 in zone 1 in 2
&overlay TIRE2 shifts to 196 -5 in zone 1 in 2
&overlay TIRE2 rotates 1 anchor point 0.5 0.5 in 2

Sorry it’s late. The bold shift spots will need to be adjusted once the overlay has rotated.

Yaay, it works! Thank you so much for help :grinning: Have a nice day, Jade!
