And I’m proud of it too
Awesome!
So have you ever or plan to write a story in your dialect?
Not sure what Haiti’s dialect sounds like to be honest
Maybe you can give an example here.
woi!!!
There are a lot more carib’n writers in here. They’re prob busy or didn’t see the post.
Yup I have a story out. I didn’t write 100% Trini English since the way we speak can offend the community. Things we find funny can be deemed offensive to others as well.
So just a word of advice, just saying don’t write 100% Trini English cuz ppl might not understand and will stop reading/get offended. If you do, add the translation.
OY GYAL!!

never thought I’d run into another trini author
My story doesn’t have any of our dialect in it but it is based off of schools in Tobago. It would be nice to write one just for caribbean readers though .
My family was born in Cuba!
Cuban queen

Sorry I replied late, I have a character in one of my stories that’s also Haitian but the whole story won’t be in creole.
I’ll jus think this lol
No worries and thanks

Wait which country is this?
Guyana
Great

Added any dialect to any of your stories?
tbh I don’t know much about my background

Oh you don’t currently reside there.
A lot of Guyanese live in trinidad. They say a lot of things backwards to us lol.
The most popular is curry chicken for us & chicken curry for them
yeah lmao I say chicken curry always heh
Ooh, I have a Haitian in my story.
Are you also from Haiti?

well I guess it’s a universal Guyanese thing no matter the string
No, but my story takes place in Montreal which has a small, but decent Haitian population.
