Hi If you want the character behind the table you will need to use overlay of that table and spot direct them.
If you dont know how to spot direct and can live without having them behind the table so the easiest way how to spot 4 characters is:
INT. PHILADELPHIA TIMES OFFICE - DAY
&cut to zone 2
&CHAR1 stands screen left AND CHAR1 faces right
&CHAR2 stands screen right AND CHAR2 faces left
&CHAR3 stands upscreen left AND CHAR3 faces right
@CHAR4 stands upscreen right AND CHAR4 faces left
