If there aren’t much votes to a gender then I won’t give a choice of choosing the gender coz why take the pain of branching when no-one needs it
Episode has very few stories with gender option but if you provide it, your story will stand out from everyone else and will be universal. Everyone will be able to read it. You will get even more reads because males as well as females will like to read your story, otherwise just one. Hope it helps!!!

I voted male I like seeing a different point of view and how a story plans out.
I voted male, because while I’m a girl, and yes, I normally play as a girl, I sometimes play as a male too for the fun of it. Which is why normally I prefer a story where there’s a gender choice, because let’s not lie: there are a lot of female MC stories on the app. However, I know how hard it is to do a gender branch (since I’m doing it as well, sigh) so you don’t have to do it if you don’t feel like it. 
So a lot of people want a choice, so this is it I’m adding a gender choice. Screw the pain of branching.

Well it could be easier to make both the female and male character main characters. That you can also make decisions for the male and that the female isn’t necessarily the most important one.
My story has choice and yes, more choose female but there are a lot of males out there looking for male MC stories, and they will be happy to read yours.
Spotting for the two is a pain, as females are larger than males in episode.
But for me, it’s worth the effort.

See, for my Story I did male and female MC, each with their own storyline and I was scared af that all this hard work will be for nothing, but now it seems like it’s a nice 50/50 split! Many people play as a guy, just because there’s not many stories like that, so it may be extra coding but it’s generally worth it!
Gender doesn’t really is the matter of thing for me! I’m good with any! What matters, is story so I guess any would be fine 
I voted female bc I usually like more the outfits and the hair styles for female and if I could choose I would pick female. However I wouldn’t mind playing as a boy for the change if I’m not given the option lmao 
Therefore i most likely wouldn’t pick it if I had the choice but I know some pple that would so I think it’s a good idea if you have time to 
I like playing as Female, but we do need more male MC’s
