I have been trying to figure this out. How do I place my characters to sit at their desks? Also viewing them in different zones I guess?. If that makes sense

Use the classroom background that only has two blue seats and then use the table overlay

there is episode background with included table overlay:
you can spot them like this

It is 3 zoned so you can pan from one table to other
But if you would like the people be also behing the other tables you would need to make your own overlay since the included one is only for the front tables (as it seems).
