hi there
Lately I’ve been thinking about different clothing options for the LL ladies, and noticed a pretty dramatic difference in hem length for many of the dresses. It seemed like most of the dress options hit either on the character’s upper thigh, or spread to the floor. So I decided to crunch some numbers and see how big this difference actually was.
Stats
I sorted the dresses into 10 categories in descending order of their respective hem-length. The categories were micro, mini, short, knee, tea, calf, ballerina, floor, full, and hi-low. In total, I counted 326 dresses (excluding tops which were included in the drop down menu). Of the 326, this is what I found:
- micro: 0.294478528; 29%
- mini: 0.162576687; 16%
- short: 0.147239264; 15%
- knee: 0.042944785; 4%
- tea: 0.009202454; 1%
- calf: 0; 0%
- ballerina: 0.021472393; 2%
- floor: 0.134969325; 13%
- full: 0.128834356; 13%
- hi-lo: 0.058282209; 6%
Approx. 3% of the dress options contained a hem line that hit between the character’s knees and the ground. Considering how many characters (mothers, grandparents, business professionals, bridesmaids, characters who prefer additional length due to personal preference, style, modesty, etc.) might prefer a longer dress length, I think that we are in need of some more options for them to wear.
Here are some examples of type of dress that I think would be really beneficial to our characters:
