Common words heard in Episode romance stories

Exactly. Not super romantic.

Nope. I prefer if the MC was backing up against the wall and the LI was standing there, not blocking her unless he was teasing her in a cute way.

That’s mostly what romance in Episode is. Yes, there’s the love, but who could forget the sx? It’s not romance without the old, DEVILS TANGO. That’s the message Episode romance stories give off. If there’s no sx, it’s not love. :unamused:

Episode going against its own guildlines is what episode is best at and giving you gem choices every 5 seconds. I have seen them do it many times as I read gem stories for the gems and the request thread.

And the amount of times I have seen these references to you know what! Is embarrassing. Also episode loves to use the most cringe worthy dialogue ever like it was all over the mafias fallen angel.

Speaking of cringeworthy dialogue…

“S*x on a stick.”

Like, what even is that? What does s*x on a stick look like? Literally two people b***ing each other on a stick? 'Cause that sounds uncomfortable.

EDIT: I know what the phrase means, but still.

Using husky to describe the alpha males tone

Nothing makes me cringe more than an author writing something like “He breathed my name in a low, husky tone as his piercing gaze bored into me. It drove me absolutely wild. He drove me wild.”

At this point, “her lips tasted like the Sahara desert, dry like her personality and skin. Where’d she get that chapstick from? The Dollar Tree?” sounds more romantic than Episode Mafia Stories©.

By the way, I made that dialogue up lol.

If roasts were written like love-at-first-sight descriptions, I’d read them.

Hey, let’s make that a thread!

Yes. We absolutely should.

Because she is not swooning over him–though the BFF isn’t, either, unless it’s the BFF-turned-enemy trope.

YES omg. Like, no she isn’t…her only personality trait is liking food.

I’m a little guilty of actually liking that line… :face_with_hand_over_mouth: It’s different from hearing “she’s not like others”. We’re all different from each other in some way, so this cliche line makes the most sense to me. Not offensive in any way, imo.

I guess it depends on context. Like with my first example of the use of ‘can’t control myself’. The times I see it is when the MC is doing nothing at all . The word Control alone just seems gross, but I probably would like it if it’s worded like ‘it’s hot/cute’ because it’s just a reaction.

Something else sounds a little more innocuous than not like other girls, plus it’s gender neutral.
