Any ideas on how to get HQ (High Quality) PNG’s of my characters for a cover? I can’t find a good way to get good quality versions of them to put in my cover? Any methods?

I’m working on Mac, but could you be more specific, I’m clear on how to remove the backgrounds and stuff, but actually getting the high quality photos of the characters is the problem because most of my tries come up with the characters being pixelated and stuff.
