I completely agree with most here.
Giving that there was a dead line date set, the artist could have reached out to you if there was anything going on in her life that was stopping her from staying committed to this project. This is just unprofessional on the artist’s part. Giving that there was an arrangement made that the cover piece was to be finished by the end of January, and had failed to be met. I don’t see there being any reason the artist has a right to be upset over. Also considering that you have reached out to her on more then one occasion, she can not go back and say that you were thread hopping.
