I am trying to do a split screen phone call, and my overlay is the top section with a white line seperating it from the main background (the dark bedroom with a window). The plan is to zoom into the background (by sliding the overlay away) after the call has ended to reveal just the receiver of the call.
Ignore the person at the bottom, I just placed her there with the intention to spot direct later.
My problem is, when I copy these spot directing co-ordinates to the script:
Like this:
It gives me this error:
Can someone please tell me how I need to format the
shifts to
and
scales to
when creating the overlay with the background? Because I need to resize and reposition the overlay at the same time, and I clearly don’t know how to do that correctly.
Your code is wrong, this is how it should be. let’s say for example I want to add this overlay in my story
&overlay 5437376648380416_BLACK CAR shifts to 176 395 in zone 1
&overlay 5437376648380416_BLACK CAR scales to 1.846 -1.846
INT. STREET- DAY with BLACK CAR to 1.846 176 395 so you only need to add the first scale number which is (1.846) then the two shift numbers which are (176) and 395)
Thank you, I actually watched this video a while ago and forgot about it lol. If @louisewrites advice doesn’t help me, I will go rewatch the video (and remember it in the future as well)
You’re welcome, That alright. Long as you remember the steps. sometimes it seems so tricky to do split screen, but you will get the hang. You did code just right. you just missing tiny bit of code but you are not bad at coding.
