I’m on chapter one and it’s almost finished I just need to make it more story like (it’s right now very ugly coded and the convo’s are very straigth to the point) but then chapter one is finaly finished !

I thought all reads before the deadline don’t count?

Can the “clue” be something that the MC already had?

It would be something like; MC owns something that doesn’t allow the ‘user’ to be enchanted? For example like a necklace? It’s not really a finding a clue, but it does create a mystery for the MC to solve…

Lol I am for week working on it every day. So comparing to amount of time I am pretty slow.

I believe so too. But that doesnt metter does it? I mean if the story is bad we will hadly ge minimal necessary amount of readers anyway. And if it is good than publishing eary might only help the fact that people will recomend it to other so there will be already basis of peple who do recomend it after the deadline. So in both cases I do not see any disadvantage in publishing early.

If the people who would have read the story read prior to the deadline, then you’ve lost out on those reads.

However, I understand the advantage of getting your story out there, which you can also do by self-promoting.

they don’t? I thought that on the deadline they decided who won

You know what… Its my first story ever published. I am not aiming to win especially if there are experienced writers in the contest. :nerd_face:I do it for fun if it will have sucess good. If not no problem at all. Therefore I really do not care about lost readers in contest.

There is a 2-4 week period where the submissions are reviewed, before the winners are announced.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with trying. I was just wondering why you would do it so early. But, good luck.

Hey, so - I’ve seen it mentioned a few times in this thread, but, ah- There’s now a minimum amount of reads necessary on a story for the Episode team to even review it personally? How many reads would that be?

Is there a minimum number of reads a story needs to get before Reader Retention can be calculated?
From testing we’ve learned that in order to get reliable data about reader engagement stories need to have at least 100 reads.

Awesome. Thanks so much!

Oof, I’m the smart person who is completely changing her Clue entry 3 weeks before the due date…

I’m more invested in my new story though, so I think I’ll finish faster. I was only one Episode one of my first anyway XD
