Crediting backgrounds

Hi, so I am trying to figure out how to credit people for their backgrounds. But I have found many on Pinterest and just google images. I am unsure who to credit, and how to find people who made them. Can anyone help?

Actually, we aren’t allowed to use those backgrounds, even with credit. The company has to give you permission to use them.

Try using the websites Episode Life, Pixabay, and Unsplash! There’s a note on all those sites saying that you are free to use those backgrounds. I think Episode Life requires credit, but otherwise that’s it!

You can also use backgrounds from community background creators such as FlowerGriefer, Wincy, Jen and myself. There are also some community creators on IG such as Andrea Hailey (@/andrea.h.episode) and Cora Jones (@/moonfairy.episode) where you can press their links and accept their T&C to access their backgrounds.

Each creator normally requires credit, but it varies - some may prefer a readerMessage and others prefer it at the end of a chapter. You’ll have to read the individual’s T&C (Terms & Conditions) to find out.

You should not use pinterest or google backgrounds. It is safer to just use ones in which you are certain of the original creator.

Those aren’t from Google. Those are from copyright-free or public domain websites.

Well, they weren’t allowed to. Unless specifically specified by the company or website that made the image, Google images aren’t public domain and are copyrighted. Google doesn’t actually make the images, all their images come from websites.

You should not use them. Episode doesn’t really check the backgrounds, as long as there aren’t any watermarks or any obvious proof that it’s a copyrighted background, they approve it.
