Custom name when someone talks

Hi, I looked at the forum similar to this, but I couldn’t get it to work, and all I got were errors. Can somebody please explain how to have if someone customized their name to go on top of the speech bubble? I created the YOU character but it isn’t working.

Is YOU your character display and script name?

No, the script name is YOU, and the display name is NAME

Use this then:

input What is your name? | What is your name? | Done (NAME)

Where should I put it? Sorry, it’s my first time using the writing portal

After your character enters to the screen? and before customisation if you have one

Just make sure you test it on the app, it’s not working on the Web Preview.

I have an error when I do that…how can I make it so that the name they chose will appear?

YOU (think_rubchin)

In the dialogue just use [NAME]

When I do that, YOU appears and I don’t want that to happen

Then you have to have a display name and script name the same

I don’t think you can change it now. You would have to delete your character and create a new one.

So the display name and script name would both be YOU or NAME?

No, then you using just one, for example, YOU for display and script:

input What is your name? | What is your name? | Done (YOU)

YOU (talk)
Dialogue.

CHARACTER

Okkk, let me try that.

YOU would be a random character, right?

Whatever you pick.

When I do that, the YOU character still shows up on the side of the panel
