Dara Amarie's Official Help Thread! [closed]

For what you are trying to do, you will need to turn that door overlay into 2 separate overlays where 1 overlay is the left side and the other is the right side. The right side will need to be at the highest layer so that when your character walks “inside the house” she will end up walking behind the right side overlay.

Otherwise if you have your character change layers at the same time she walks, then she will end up behind the door already before even walking to that spot.

Hi Can you help me get rid of this error.I’m always used this coding template and today it’s giving a really strange error.

So what your saying is that I need two overlays?

Sooooo I was wondering how do I make the texting overlays? I have the phone background, but I don’t know how to add or edit the actual messages, could you help me with that?

You’re missing a parenthese ) after “No”

But since you only have to options, you only need to use just an if and then else by itself

Yes, you need an overlay of the right side of the door

Or try seeing if this works first:

&pause for 1 THEN NIKKIE moves to layer 4
@NIKKIE walks to spot 0.632 253 353 in 3 and NIKKIE faces left and NIKKIE does it while walk_rear

THANK YOU! It worked! :star_struck:

I’m still confused, I don’t quite understand how to MAKE the text message overlays.

You’d have to use a photo editing app/site and turn each text bubble into an overlay then upload the overlays yourself.

Which one do you think is best? I’ve tried some and I just can’t seem to figure it out

So what would I put? I created him in the characters section and then added him to the story (from what you can see in the screenshots that’s all I’ve done with him).

@Dara.Amarie

which parts are which?

You’ll have to ask around in Art Resources. I’m not an editor of the sorts, sorry.

All you need to do is just add him to the template (just the features you want him to have the same). You don’t need to add @CHARACTER1 becomes CHARACTER2 code. That’s only for same gendered characters, and it’s not really used for the same character.

You should ask whoever created those. I wouldn’t know since I didn’t make them.

Awww darn!

OK, I feel like this is a dumb question, but I can’t seem to find the answer to it.

I know where to go to enter the main story synopsis - the one that appears when you click on a story and see the artwork. It’s the 4-5 lines that tell you the highlights of what the story as a whole is about.

However, a lot of stories have it where every chapter above 1 has a chapter synopsis of what happens or the questions being answered in that chapter. Where do I go to enter a chapter synopsis? Or can I code it somehow?

Thanks a ton!

NVM - I found it!

I’m making the character walk during the cry animation.
