DARA’S GUIDE: Remember Choices with if/elif/else

I’m trying to remember a choice from a dressing game from the last episode of what the reader chose for the MC.

The guide above explains everything.

Oh ok! Thank you! Just one more question what are the label 1 and 2 and 3 for? Do you put the name of the outfit in them orrr…?

I keep getting an error on else, it says there’s an issue with the brackets. Can you help me ?

@Dara.Amarie I keep getting error with else. And I keep changing the brackets but I’m not sure what’s wrong.

How do I transfer customization choices of the readers to the next chapter?
Please help.

Thank you and I wish everyone success on their stories <3

There’s no need as the customisation features remain for all the chapters.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Idiotically, I’ve been driving myself nuts over this for a week :sweat_smile:

choice (BAR)

“Go out to his bar.” {

} “Dont go.” {
}

if (BAR is “Go out to his bar”) {
STELLA (talk_awkward_loop)
I guess,I could maybe stop by and say hello.
It wont hurt anyone.
@zoom on 499 363 to 412% in 0.5
STELLA (talk_handraised_happy_loop)
And I really should stop talking to myself, I am starting to sound like my grandma Anne.
@STELLA is laugh_giggle

} else {
@STELLA is cheer_hurdler_happy
}

Hey, Dara I have been having problems with this because when the readers choose either of those two options, script straight forward goes to else choice. Can you please help??

Bump!

Hi Dara!
Can you explain to me how you remember choices over the episodes?? I haven’t find the answer in need yet! Can you please help? <3

The entire guide above explains it.

I have a problem that does not work. Yet I have no mistakes I do not understand.

I want to send you an image to show you but it does not want

} elif (gain rebeu) {
SIRA

} else {
}

Hi
If I use this way, the link you have uploaded, for the dressing game. Where do I add the if elif and else commands? is it just below the dressing game? Because my character wears the same choice of the clothes in the next chapter, but when I preview it, her default clothes are on her.

You want to add it right under it like this:

if (Flag_Name_1) {
#replace Flag_Name_1 with your flag name
@CHARACTER changes into Outfit1

} elif (Flag_Name_2) {
#replace Flag_Name_2 with your flag name
@CHARACTER changes into Outfit2

} else {
#This is where the third option goes
@CHARACTER changes into Outfit3
}

You can copy and paste it at this site:

You can also just use gains!

Just go here for all her templates: https://www.dara-amarie.com/

Hi there! I’m having an issue today that I don’t think I’ve ever had before and I’m not quite sure what the issue is. Could someone help?

I want the player to choose their sexual preference and depending on what they pick, the cover that they see at the beginning of each chapter will match their choice. However, I am getting an error code that says, “Unexpected block end: Did you forget the { which goes with this }, or forget to put the word “choice” at the start of this choice option?”

But I’m not trying to have the player make another choice right away, I just want to use if/elif/else in the script for this piece and in the future for other sequences like customizing their love interests. Here is what my code looks like right now:

    NARRATOR
What is your sexual preference?

choice (sexuality)
“Boys” {
gain likes_boys
} “Girls” {
gain likes_girls
} “Both” {
gain likes_both
}
NARRATOR
Thank you!
@pause for 1
if (likes_boys) {

INT. IL - BOYS

} elif (likes_girls){

INT. IL - GIRLS

} else {

INT. IL - BOTH

}

I clicked the if/elif/else from the drop down box when I started typing “if”, so I don’t know how it isn’t working. I’ve tried removing some spaces in different areas because sometimes that has screwed it up before, but nothing I have done has worked. If someone has the time, could I please get some assistance? Thank you!

You just need to add something after the background name. There cannot be only a background name inside of brackets.
