What did you ask?
Thank you! Yes, that is very helpful. Having something cohesively and succinctly laid out is much easier to parse that when it is spread out over multiple posts/discussions.
On the app, portal, mobiles creator issues – since this is more my realm than the forum, I am just filling in for Jeremy today – one of the things I would like to see happen is a known issues page that is updated with what the status on certain bugs is. It is a project that is in my list of things to accomplish. I can’t give you a date on when that might happen, but I can tell you that we are aware of that need probably more than you know.
Thank you! It’s so nice to know our concerns are at least being recognised.
I think the idea of a page that has the status of bugs is a fantastic idea, that way we’ll know when you are aware of the bugs and that you are in the process of fixing them.
For the record, I do agree with you partially. This story is obsessed with nudity, underwear and sex for shock value. I still don’t think it’s over 14, but nearly every scene is dedicated to it.
I don’t want it banned, but it does seem like an excuse to get attention, which unfortunately it has done. This thread was probably the reaction they were looking for.
I disagree and I think sex is ok on this app, but this story has an unusual horniness about it.
What DOES annoy me is the double standards. I was warned over this scene in my story:
For the record, they’re not having sex, merely cuddling up in bed (a lot of people prefer to sleep nude), yet they get away with murder.
Unlike most of you, my gripe isn’t that this story should be banned. I’m furious that it’s allowed when lesser things, like the scene above aren’t allowed.
Just to further elaborate, the mentioned story is semi-autobiographical. I prefer to sleep in the nude (it’s a comfort thing), hense why the character representing me is naked. Just because I sleep naked, doesn’t mean I’m about to have sex. Sure, me and my spouse make love some nights, but more often than not, we sleep completely unclothed together and nothing sexual happens. To put clothes on the character would be creating a lie about myself.
I tried patiently to explain that it was completely non-sexual and they weren’t doing anything and that it was a very tender romantic scene. All I got was “put a bra on her at least”. Who sleeps in their bra? Very uncomfortable, I would imagine. I thought “oh well, I guess they’re strict about it.” Then I saw ‘Campus Crush’ and there is a close up of a naked woman embracing a man during the act of sex. What the hell!? And this was a featured story! Then in ‘Chain Reaction’ the MC wakes up naked in bed with Trey. Why didn’t they have to put clothes on? But mine, in it’s non-sexual use was not allowed. Even in my story ‘Stranded’, two characters walk around a deserted island in their birthday suits in one scene and I couldn’t even show them embracing (non-sexually) until they were clothed.
They need to change their guidelines. I’m sick of being restricted while they’re free to do and show whatever they see fit.
Choices is a stunning app! They took down the story so at least they sort of listened
Choices: Check out our new Victorian era romance, “Desire and Decorum”
Episode: Two bad boyzzz, one you … “iN mY bEd!!1!1”
No Don’t worry. I thought they did but I just read they hadn’t. They should have though.
Pertaining to the poll…
Stories like this could be okay, but, the point is that Episode is breaking their own guidelines. Tons of authors get threatened about having their story removed for crap a million times less worse than this.
Episode. You want to post stories like this? Fine. Change your guidelines and age minimum. Otherwise, no, this shit shouldn’t be allowed.
I was afraid to post/write a story I’ve been thinking of for a while, because my MC is the type to sleep around. But with this crap on the front page! Hah! Guess I was worried for nothing. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Oh my God… What? What even-
I agree with you 100%. Episode made a lot of mistakes, but doing this takes the cake. It’s pitiful to see that they wrote a story like this without even thinking about the backless that they’ll receive from it. The Episode community doesn’t like the idea of this story being on the app or existing. To me, it’s just another cliche story that they’ve written. I guess they like stories like these.
i voted that stories like In my bed are not okay for this situation, which they aren’t. this situation meaning, labeling the app as 13+ and going against their own guidelines and banning other people for doing the same. But if that wasn’t the case then i feel they would be fine but this is how it is and many other amazing authors have gotten warnings for much smaller things. This is not okay.
that’s exactly what i was trying to say in my comment but couldn’t find the words. Totally agree!
I suppose my only gripe with it (nothing to do with ratings) is the poor “nerdy” guy that everyone seems to hate. What did he do wrong? It’s seems like the MC is bullying him for no good reason.
I’m fully disappointed with this community! And not with Episode! You call Episode hypocrite, but all of you are!
Popular stories on Episode are the one which include inappropriate scenes! They get most reads! But then they get banned! Because of you people who can’t stand that. There’s other half of readers which don’t hang up on forum, but who want those stories in app!
Do you wanna tell me, that 13+ means that stories should only be appropriate for kids from 13 to 18 years? Those who are older then 18 don’t count in it?
My kids are less then 13! And I allow them to watch Episode. They sometimes install it, but they get bored because they still don’t understand English.
We have healthy attitude towards sex. I don’t blind their eyes. And they’re not even surprised when they see gays kissing.
One more thing I will say
I know you’ll flag my comment for this! But kids do have sex when they’re 13! Some even younger. Not in all countries, but they still do!
That’s why I dare once again to call you hypocrites! You wear your pinky glasses even though you know world is different than you imagine it.
You fight the war calling Episode hypocrite, but what you should do is to be happy that Episode is spreading their boundaries. With this I’m applying to those who prefer inappropriate scenes in stories.
I understand your comment and I partly agree with you.
However, I must say you’re taking the wrong approach to this by just being rude
And you think it’s okay if kids have sex at the age of 13, or even younger as you said? Is this really something we should promote and encourage? You say you don’t blind your kid’s eyes, which is fine. You say you have a healthy attitude towards sex, which is fine. But will you seriously let them read this story without any doubt it might be a “little bit” inappropriate for them? So we have an underage MC who loses her virginity in a public pool to a guy she barely knows… And this is just one example I could never ever consider as a healthy attitude towards sex.
Sorry for that! But I do feel attacked by this attitude, because I have different opinion.
Wow, if this is some new trend, I hope my future kids won’t follow it.
We can only hope so
♀ Because every generation is more mature than previous
Oh, give me a god damn break!
All of us are hypocrites? How exactly? Don’t you see that we’re all sick and tired of these kinds of stories, not just on the featured section but also on the trending section? Most of those reads likely come from young, curious teens who don’t understand just how messed up the things they’re reading are.
Yes, PG13 means that stories should be appropriate for young teens, plain and simple. It doesn’t matter how old the oldest person in the audience is, the product should always keep that rating in mind. Plenty of people over 18 (us included) enjoy stories that are rated PG13. PG13 doesn’t mean it’s only for young teens, it means it’s suitable for young teens.
About your kids, may god bless their soul. Episode doesn’t have a healthy attitude towards sex, and no one who encourages their attitude does either. We don’t want to blind teenagers, we want them to learn about what some of them are naturally curious about in safe ways. Episode, while claiming to be PG13, is NOT safe and is exposing young minds to things that a lot of them might not even have been curious about in the first place!
Kids aren’t supposed to have sex at 13 or younger. A lot of them don’t even care about sex. I never came across that despite being surrounded by kids and teens on a daily basis, and even as I was myself a child and a teenager. That kind of behavior is really dangerous for everyone involved so no one should accept it as a norm ever.
