I can only clap to the person in Episode who published this story! This is a step forward! I hope we continue in that way.
I had the same opinion. I dont sugarcoat my daughter either and I’d have no problem reading this story.
However, I do have a problem with them publishing this when stories lesser are banned. They need to change the guidelines if they’re going to allow this and let users do the same without being restricted.
Yeah I agree, but we won’t accomplish that with attacking Episode. If Episode starts publishing these kind of stories - sooner or later guidelines will change.
But if we call it inappropriate, they’ll just remove it, or change it or what ever - but that means this content will never be allowed by guidelines and that’s not fair to many authors.
(Btw: I don’t write stories with such content, but I do read them.)
Agree to disagree
This story is absolutely horrible in every sense of the word. And it’s a perfect example of Episode’s hypocrisy and complete disregard for their own guidelines.
But the problem is episode attacks other people’s stories. If we just let them ban our stories and let them publish things with worse content, how are we accomplishing anything?
Like I said in an earlier post, I was warned over a scene showing an unclothed woman cuddling her boyfriend from behind in bed. It was totally unsexual, but I got the warning. These characters in their story actually have sex, but it’s allowed!? I tried explaining it’s semi-autobiographical and I don’t wear anything to bed, so it’s be incorrect in what really happened. But they keep telling me to put a bra on her. People don’t sleep in bras. It made me sad because it was a tender sweet, non-sexual scene and then after stopping me, they allow this. It’s not fair.
This story is quite sad honestly. 13 year olds are very impressionable and Episode isn’t showing sex in a good light at all. The characters have unprotected sex in a pool. Not only is it potentially dangerous to do that but protection is very important.
The virgin characters are portrayed as losers which is disgusting because no one should be a loser just because they haven’t had sex.
I don’t have a problem with sex in stories ( as long as its not detailed) as a 14 year old girl I would appreciate if Episode wrote more responsibily.
This story is simply ridiculous and dumb. When I read it, it felt like a joke, like a bad parody. I just can’t take this story seriously, it was so unrealistic and a cheap porn has more plotline than this.
If Episode wants to release stories like this, then they have to change their guidelines, since In my bed is clearly breaking them. And if Episode doesn’t follow their own rules, how can they expect people to follow them?
All in all, in my opinion, this story should not have been published, because it is undemanding (bad dialogues, bad directing etc.) and inappropriate considering the current guidelines.
This is my 6th year on Episode and my second as a writer. The platform has become riddled with issues such as inappropriate stories from Episode itself as well as elitism within the competitions. That’s why I haven’t been writing or reading as of late: I’ve lost all faith in the future of the app.
And to be honest, I’m completely disheartened. I don’t want the first story of mine to actually grip me and make me care about writing to be associated with an app that sets boundaries it cannot keep itself.
I disagree. I don’t think this story depicts a healthy attitude about sex at all. The entire plot revolves around the fact that not having sex makes you a loser. What is healthy about that?
We’re being hypocrites for calling out these mature scenes and saying that they aren’t suitable for a 13+ audience? They’re obviously NOT appropriate for younger audiences – you literally called them “inappropriate” yourself.
Stories including sex and sexuality are fine (no one is complaining about “gays kissing”), but this story contains excessive mature scenes as well as it breaks the Episode guidelines on multiple occasions. I don’t care if “the other half of readers” enjoy stories like these: Episode ignored their own rules and should be held accountable for it.

How are we Hypocrites?
Just because kids even younger than 13 are having sex doesn’t mean they should or be able to have access to such Graphic content.
Aside from how shockingly bad the story is written, with it’s plot holes, lack of character development, lack of any real substance, so it’s not even of quality to be in a featured section. It sends out an incredibly unhealthy message to young people. Sex really isn’t everything, it sure as hell didn’t need an entire shambles of a story dedicating to it, and while in my opinion it’s fine there are sex scenes in stories, it’s part of life. Stripping off in a corridor, having random boys magically know where you live and sneak into your room, and kissing people you just met while making a disgusting pact to sleep with someone for no reason other than losing your v card, is not something that should be normalised. And as has been stated before, authors have published far less “inappropriate” things and had severe consequences, but this is somehow okay? It’s not okay. It will never be okay to depict this kind of behaviour as normal or acceptable. Not kissing someone or still being a virgin at 17/18 isn’t something to be embarrassed of. And stories so heavily focuses on being “hot” and being a “loser” if you can’t get a boyfriend are just messed up
Imagine what warped sense of themselves kids will get from it. It’s just wrong. Everything about this story is wrong.
Preach!!!
that’s not what we’re saying. we are saying that they have banned people for not following the rules when they don’t even following them. So if they aren’t following the rules they made then why should we?? Lead by example.
That’s so stupid (how they are responding not you’re post) They shouldn’t feature a story and promote it if they haven’t reviewed it. I think they have they’re just telling us that to satisfy us, so we’ll stop.
Actually, you’ve just proved a point with your insultingly rude long post. Your kids who are below the recommended age read Episode, as do many others who are younger. You can speak for your kids but nobody elses.
There is a difference between learning about sex in a healthy and educational way and reading that story which is basically fuelled by nothing but lust and desire. I’d be interested for you to explain to me how you know me and my opinion well enough to call me a hypocrite?
If you want to read mature content, no one is stopping you from finding somewhere that includes it, there are many that have dedicated sections for those sorts of stories. But a platform that preaches how it’s teen friendly and has strict guidelines isn’t a place for an erotic novel, especially a platform that predominantly is visual.
If you feel so strongly about your opinion, create your own thread and be judgemental towards anyone who disagrees (which is most of us). Just because you are a part of the minority in this situation, gives you no right to be so rude to anyone else that disagrees, and visa versa.
Good day.
I believe Episode is also breaking the guidelines of the Google Play Store and the IOS App Store with these sexually explicit stories, aren’t they? A PG13 app should never promote the kind of content that “…In My Bed!!!” is/has.
Sums up everything I’ve been trying to explain.
It’s a shame people feel the need to disagree in such a way
But this post was never intended for people to be rude or throw insults.
So, this is not about In my bed, and I really hope not to get flagged for this,
So a couple of months ago when I was writing my story I got a email saying, here’s some tips for a good story!
1 Using words you wouldn’t use in school
2. Describing sex scenes etc
There were more I don’t remember We sre not allowed to break the guidlines but episode is?
